About us
Kids' Meals’ mission is to deliver free, healthy meals year-round to the doorsteps of Houston's hungriest preschool-aged children. But Kids’ Meals delivers more than a meal, we deliver hope to families in crisis. Chronically hungry children suffer permanent developmental impairments that limit physical, intellectual and emotional growth and lead to chronic illnesses like asthma, obesity, depression and anxiety. Kids’ Meals doesn’t just impact a hungry child’s meal time; we impact their lifetime. Kids’ Meals is the only home meal delivery program in the nation focused on children, and since our founding in 2006, we have delivered more than 4 million meals. #feedourfuture Interested in volunteering? John Marshall, VP of Satterfield & Pontikes, attended our groundbreaking last week and shared what it means to be an integral part of the Building Hope Campus. Houston Business Journal covered this event, writing: "The new facility will include additional space for food preparation and storage, volunteer efforts, meetings and office space, as well as an enhanced van loading dock area. Pin Oak Interests is serving as the project manager, Kirksey Architecture is the architect for the headquarters, and Satterfield & Pontikes Construction is the project’s general contractor." Additionally, Kids' Meals would like to thank Pappas Restaurants, Inc. for serving as our facility and kitchen designers. We are so grateful to be working with powerhouse partners that are bringing this vision of feeding 26,000 preschool-aged children each weekday to life. We are so thankful to BlueHub Capital, for all the ways they are making the Hope Campus possible. More to come soon on our new building that will make it possible to feed over 26,000 children a day by 2031! And thank you, Regions Bank. We are so excited for Summer 2025!
We are excited to announce a $32.5 million New Markets Tax Credit investment in Kids' Meals, Inc., a Houston-based nonprofit dedicated to fighting food insecurity. BlueHub COO Brenda Loya shared the good news at a groundbreaking ceremony today in Texas. With support from Regions Bank, this investment will provide a $6.3 million subsidy, enabling Kids’ Meals to construct a new 50,000 sq ft food distribution and social services center. The Building Hope Campus will increase meal distribution from 2.7 million to over 7 million meals annually, serving 14,550 unique families. Kids’ Meals focuses on delivering free, healthy meals to preschool-aged children from low-income families, addressing critical food and resource needs. “Kids’ Meals research shows just how tight family budgets are,” said Brenda Loya. “BlueHub has a long history of fighting hunger through targeted investments in food banks, grocery stores in low-income communities, schools that provide free meals to all students and food incubators. Kids’ Meals is another impactful organization we’re proud to support.” Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dphN7vqr #Houston #FoodInsecurity #Nonprofit #CommunityDevelopment #ChildhoodHunger #ImpactInvesting #NMTC #BuildingHope #KidsMeals #BlueHubCapital #RegionsBank
