InCommunity supports inclusivity in our community. As a provider of meaningful service to individuals with developmental disabilities, it is important that we not only support them in living safe, healthy, and joyful lives, but to advocate for proper accessibility within the community. In May, we encourage everyone to educate themselves about how disabilities and mobility issues affect people all over the world. #MobilityMatters #nationalmobilitymonth #awareness #accessibility #InCommunity #embracingabilities #developmentaldisability #IDD #provider

InCommunity holds a Look n' Cook class once a week at all 5 of our adult day programs where individuals learn how to prepare a variety of meals on their own. InCommunity encourages the individuals we support with intellectual and developmental disabilities to make healthy and nutritious meal choices. Last week the meal of choice was tacos, on Taco Tuesday! If you're interested in supplying the ingredients or leading a Look n' Cook class at one of our programs in your area, please visit our website at https://lnkd.in/gRhd7M_C.

During the last full week of National Volunteer month, InCommunity would like to give a Volunteer spotlight to North Point Community Church and their annual "Be Rich" generosity campaign. North Point volunteers participated in 8 flexible volunteer opportunities, and 21 other projects that included decorating our Roswell/Alpharetta group homes during the holiday season, hosting a music concert, and leading a fall pumpkin painting activity in the park, just to name a few. In the coming years, we hope to offer just as many engaging opportunities for all the members of churches involved in this beautiful initiative. Major shout out to North Point's Intersect Director, Ameera Joe for providing us the ability and opportunity to forge a lasting relationship with North Point Community Church and the members of their congregation to embrace the abilities in all of us. #volunteers #volunteermonth #spotlight #giveservelove #berich #embracingabilities #InCommunity #developmentaldisabilities #cerebralpalsy #IDD #downsyndrome #autism

Celebrating our beautiful planet Earth, InCommunity encourages safe, and healthy lifestyles that involve getting the individuals we support acquainted with the great outdoors. Here, attendees of our Roswell adult day program, Unlimited Possibilities Center, are seen visiting the Lanier Community Garden, Buford, GA. While at the garden, they are taught to plant, tend, and harvest fresh produce that is donated to the Food Bank. #InCommunity #embracingabilities #EarthDay #planetvsplastics #gardening #safe #healthy #joyful
