What are corporate clients saying to law firms about generative AI? How are firms themselves engaging with AI – and how do their clients stand to benefit? At Legal Lab 2024, Nolan W. Kurtz, COO of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, spoke with Harbor about his firm’s approach to advanced technologies, such as automation, data analytics, and AI including large language models. In this interview, Kurtz shares his insights on “What AI Means for Clients” – how they can benefit from increased automation, and how the firm is working to ensure that its lawyers understand both the potential benefits as well as shortcomings of generative AI specifically. He also shares his advice for law firm operations leaders in this video, which kicks off our new Harbor Legal Lab Innovator Spotlight series. How many countries around the world recognize marriage equality? Which American city was the first to add black and brown stripes to the Pride flag? Which country had the first same-sex married couple to win an Olympic gold medal together? (The answers appear at the bottom of this post.) To celebrate Pride Month – and Pride Season – we highlight the efforts of everyone at Harbor who is growing an inclusive community within our company and our ecosystem. Our Pride Alliance employee resource group (ERG) is dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ+ community and advancing equality and inclusion in all we do. Over the past year, the ERG has organized: • A live meet-up in Chicago to attend the OUTspoken storytelling event, where we listened to impactful LGBTQ+ stories • A LGBTQ+ Health Awareness Week event to highlight specific challenges LGBTQ+ people sometimes face in healthcare • Special guest Amy Binns-Calvey to commemorate World AIDS Day • A virtual trivia game, bringing our global LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies together to celebrate and deepen our knowledge of LGBTQ+ history and culture The Pride Alliance ERG welcomes new ideas and new members so we can continue to raise awareness year-round. (And if you’ve read this far, the answers to the questions at the top are: 37, Philadelphia, and Team GB (women’s hockey in 2016).) #InspireInclusion #legaltech #CelebratePride #InclusionMatters #LGBTQEquality
