As the not-for-profit division of the Florida Prepaid College Board, the Florida Prepaid College Foundation offers an avenue for eligible organizations to purchase tax-deductible Florida Prepaid College Plan scholarships, and in many cases, leverage our funds for a dollar-for-dollar scholarship match. This allows donor and partner organizations to have a bigger impact within their community. This partnership model supports our goal of making college accessible for more Floridians. Scholarships are awarded to economically disadvantaged students who are at risk of dropping out of school, and to other deserving students in need of assistance.

At the FCAN Talent Strong Florida Summit, our team had the pleasure of catching up with Ismaray, a scholarship recipient through Women of Tomorrow. Currently pursuing a major in Biological Sciences at FIU, Ismaray is on the path to becoming a medical doctor and researcher through the MD-PhD program. We're proud to support her journey and excited to see her achieve great things!
Last night was truly special at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County award ceremony! Over 300 attendees gathered to celebrate as 31 outstanding students received the Path to Prosperity Scholarship, powered by Florida Power & Light, which we matched dollar for dollar. This scholarship initiative, in collaboration with the Florida Chamber of Commerce and Florida Prepaid College Foundation, is paving the way for these students' futures. Franklin Academy's Pembroke Pines K-12 campus had some special visitors this week. Representatives from Florida Prepaid College Foundation and Florida TaxWatch were on campus to present Mrs. Showalter with the Principal Leadership Award program for 2024. This award recognizes and rewards principals at schools with large populations of at-risk students whose students outperform students at schools with similar populations. An elementary, middle and high school principal is awarded from three regions (North, Central and South) throughout the state, and Mrs. Showalter is the high school winner for the South Region! This award is a non-application award and is awarded based on data and not nomination! As nice as it was for her to be recognized on behalf of our PP K-12 campus, the most special part of the award is that the winners are able to award a 2-year college scholarship to one of our most deserving students.
