The only thing changing about our organization is the name. We decided to update our name to Foster Love as a way to put our mission forward. With the name Foster Love it is clear that we support foster youth, and we hope this shift will inspire more people to get involved. Foster Love is a 501(c)3 non-profit helping American youth in foster care through team building service-projects.
About us
Foster Love formerly Together We Rise is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of motivated young adults and former foster youth. Our vision is to improve the lives of foster children in America, who often find themselves forgotten and neglected by the public. We collaborate with community partners to bring resources to foster youth and use service-learning and team building activities to educate corporate and individual volunteers on issues surrounding the foster care system. We work with hundreds of foster agencies, social workers, CASA advocates, and other partners to bring our programs to foster youth across the nation. Our foundation has allowed us to provide thousands of foster youth across the country with new bicycles, college supplies, and suitcases so that children do not have to travel from home to home with their belongings in a trash bag.

Thank you for making a difference! Our Sweet Cases provide foster youth with dignity and care during times of transition 💙
Elizamar and I share a few things in common: we are both Year Up alumni, Citizens colleagues, and recent recipients of a $2,000 Year Up Alumni “ACTion Grant” for a community service project. Partnering with Foster Love, we created over 40 Sweet Case Duffel Bags and Superhero Kits for foster children in Rhode Island. Yesterday, during our Corporate Communications team gathering, we volunteered to design duffel bags, filling them with teddy bears, blankets, hygiene kits, and activity books. Additionally, we assembled superhero kits with masks, capes, and toys to highlight each child’s inner strength. These kits will be distributed through Foster Forward and aim to replace the damaging practice of using trash bags for personal belongings when children transition, and providing foster children with dignity and support. We hope to show these children that they matter and are true superheroes. Thank you, Candace for your support throughout the grant process. Thank you, Cindy, Jane, Melissa, and Sabrina for the support leading up to our volunteer event! And of course, HUGE thank you to all of the volunteers! #CitizensColleague #YearUpAlumni
