“Both certificates and college degrees have their own share of pros and cons,” Art Zeile (CEO of DHI Group, Inc./Dice) said to SHRM, “and it is important that individuals base their decision on their personal goals, level of commitment, and future career aspirations.” Certificate programs “are ideal for individuals looking to gain specific and up-to-date knowledge relevant to their field, allowing for quick career pivots and faster entry into the workforce,” he said. The advantage of college degree programs is the curriculum offers “more comprehensive knowledge and the potential for greater long-term career advancement opportunities,” Zeile said. They also “skew toward building strong soft skills” such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence. #HigherEducation #ProfessionalDevelopment #CertificatePrograms

"AI and machine-learning postings grew from 9.5% of tech jobs in January 2023 to 11.5% in April 2024, according to data from labor-market analyst Lightcast. But that growth is happening amid depressed demand for tech workers overall, said Art Zeile, chief executive of DHI Group, Inc.," to The Wall Street Journal. #AIJobs #MachineLearning #TechIndustry

"Over half of the respondents to Dice’s survey said that pay equity was either “very” or “extremely” important to them, and that they would want their company to conduct a pay equity analysis. "However, nearly two-thirds of respondents said their company has not communicated a pay equity analysis to them, despite 80% of HR professional reporting that their company had in fact conducted that analysis—a disconnect that could lead to additional turnover." —Sarah K. White, Senior Writer for CIO Online #PayEquity #WorkplaceEquality #CompensationAnalysis

Why do AI skills command such high pay? “Much like any skill that has high demand, but low supply… it means the salaries, the compensation, goes up, there’s no question about it,” said Art Zeile, CEO of Dice, to HR Brew ™️. The share of jobs listed on Dice requiring AI skills was 16% as of March, up from nearly zero at the beginning of 2023. A recent report from analyst firm Foote Partners found candidates with skills related to AI, such as prompt engineering and deep learning, command at least an 18% average pay premium. #AISkills #AIJobs #PromptEngineering

Machine learning skills can command at least a 10% premium compared to the average tech worker, according to Dice. “But this is a fast-moving market where the demand is growing rapidly,” said Art Zeile, CEO of DHI Group, Inc. “I predict that this premium will only continue to grow as the gap between supply and demand for AI talent grows, and offering benefits such as continuous professional development and training will be key to retaining this top talent.” #MachineLearning #AIProfessionals #AI
