“Ooooooh…” 2024 marks our 4th season with a beehive at our corporate headquarters, and that’s the sound we all made when we met the queen. Did you know honey bees will forage as far as three miles from the hive, carrying as much as four times their weight in pollen on each trip? Thanks to Dana McMullin, our Alvéole beekeeper, for introducing us to our newest 10,000 buzzing tenants and sharing some fun facts about these small but mighty creatures. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we held a few special events to destigmatize mental health and promote healthy work environments. We invited expert therapists, Somer Muhs, Lucia Davalos, LCPC, Swapna J., and Xavier Durrant to join us in a conversation about the importance of supporting mental health in the workplace, the impact our actions have, and how we can show up for each other. We also hosted an engaging discussion about the book, Set Boundaries, Find Peace, by Nedra Glover Tawwab. It was a great reminder about how to identify and express needs. As one of our readers put it, “We have lots of exciting goals, and we can’t hit them if we don’t set boundaries.” Many thanks to our special guests and our associates who invested this time in self-care.
