In the good times, tech companies bought everything. Offering a point solution that solved a single problem was a viable business model. You could build and grow on the back of a unique value proposition. But the market has tightened. The old rules don’t apply. Today, tech companies are critiquing every dollar spent. They’re also looking at the big picture impact of having dozens of point solutions across the enterprise. If you want to survive (and thrive) in today’s market, your model has to evolve. Your model has to feature: - Easy integrations - Widespread use cases - Flexibility and adaptability Companies need a platform, not a point solution.

Andy Byrne asked 5 CROs what they look for in a RevOps leader. Here’s what they told him: 1. A trusted partner Heads of RevOps are the right-hand person of the CRO. This partnership controls the most important business process at the company: revenue. A strong partnership sets a company up for success. A weak one can torpedo it. 2. Part financial analyst, part marketer, part strategist, part operator RevOps leaders are at the intersection of a handful of key business functions. They need to understand all the strategies that surround them, and stitch them together with a strategy of their own. 3. Clear thinker, clear communicator RevOps pros are constantly tangled in data. The best ones are able to rise out of the weeds and communicate their strategies up, down, and across. Verbally and in writing. 4. A competitor who loves winning Surprising, at first. But the explanation made sense – RevOps is a very hard and often thankless job. Leaders need to have an internal fire to keep them going, keep their axes sharp, and keep them focused on the company’s success. ------ All of these CROs are Clari customers, which is why “a spreadsheet wizard” wasn’t top of mind for them. Clari has replaced so many of the spreadsheet-based, time suck workflows for them so they can focus on the four points above.
