Today we honor former President George H.W. Bush on what would have been his 100th birthday. He was the only person to serve as both head of the #CIA and President of the United States. President Bush is credited with restoring focus and boosting morale at the Agency after a period of great controversy, and he remains one of the most beloved Directors in the Agency's history. In 1999, by order of Congress, the CIA Headquarters compound was renamed the George Bush Center for Intelligence. And in 2016, to mark the 40th anniversary of his swearing in as Director, the Agency announced the newly-created George H.W. Bush Intelligence Officer award to recognize outstanding CIA officers.
