Catchpoint’s Pietrasanta Traceroute is an enhanced version of the Dmitry Butskoy traceroute. We experienced – and saw other network engineers feeling – some frustration introduced by firewalls and load balancers to the original traceroute. In response, we built our own improved Traceroute for our customers (enabling for advanced slicing and dicing of the most global data) and as an open-source tool. Read our blog (the third in a series of installments on our Traceroute) to find out its benefits (hint: speed is key among them!) and how to install it on Windows 11 using WSL and Ubuntu 22. https://lnkd.in/dwi3UgjZ #networkmonitoring #traceroute #windows

Is AI replacing SREs anytime soon? Our 2024 SRE Report explores this notion. Based on a survey of 400+ reliability pros worldwide: 🔹 Only 4% felt that AI would replace their jobs 🔹 53% believed that AI would make their work easier 🔹 44% expect AI to be 'very or extremely useful' in writing code and capacity management in the next 2 years This speaks volumes about the current sentiment in the industry: AI is seen more as a helper than a usurper. Our biggest demo of the year is next week. Have you saved your spot? Join us on 6/12 @ 2 pm ET for a live demo of Internet Stack Map led by our engineering & ITOps team! Tony Ferrelli Brandon DeLap Mark Towler Internet Stack Map gives you a simplified AI-powered workflow display so ITOps and SREs can easily recognize if there is an issue and address it quickly. Network issues no longer require an experienced SRE – anyone can immediately identify what’s wrong with your application, regardless of skill level. The result is slashed MTTI & MTTR. You will learn 🔹 How Internet Stack Map works & why it’s a game-changer 🔹 How to set up & use your first Stack Map 🔹 How Catchpoint’s ITOps team uses it to accelerate MTTI & MTTR Learn more & register: https://lnkd.in/gMxsx3DM #ITOps #SRE #Observability #CatchpointIPM #IPM #InternetStackMap

Is your observability strategy stuck in the ‘90s? From on-prem to cloud-based, the evolution of monitoring to observability has been nothing short of revolutionary. Traditional methods focused solely on what was within our grasp, but as the cloud emerged, so did the need to adapt. Agent-based APM tools tried to keep up, but they couldn't reach the ever-expanding corners of our digital ecosystem. Enter IPM - the modern evergreen approach shifting the focus from inside-out to outside-in, prioritizing end-user experience above all. It's all about preventing the impact of incidents before they hit your customers or your bottom line. So, while we can't always prevent incidents, we can certainly prevent their impact. And that's where IPM shines. Ready to learn how to adapt your current strategy to focus on the end user? https://lnkd.in/dfsYfE75 #InternetPerformanceMonitor #EndUserExperience #MonitoringEvolution #Observability #IPM #DigitalTransformation

With investments projected to hit $200 billion by 2025, AI has the potential to enhance operations, but brings significant risks, as demonstrated by this year’s Valentine’s Day ChatGPT outage. With studies showing downtime can cost up to $1 million per hour, proactivity is a necessity. At Catchpoint, we monitor what matters, from where it matters, so your business can run better. In his latest Data Center Knowledge article, CEO Mehdi Daoudi outlines AI’s rising importance— and its vulnerabilities. https://lnkd.in/eb7kkUNc How is your team using innovation to tackle the complexities of AI? #InternetPerformanceMonitoring #IPM #AIOutages

As applications become more complex, sticking to the old ways of monitoring networks separately just doesn’t cut it anymore. Network and application teams often work in silos, using different tools and focusing on different goals. This split approach frequently leaves both sides with a piecemeal understanding of issues, making it challenging to pinpoint and fix problems that span both areas. Integrating network and application monitoring is crucial to achieve fast issue resolution and substantial performance gains. Read our latest blog for a case study about how an integrated approach led to: 👉 faster MTTR 👉 improved application load times (30+ secs to 15 secs) 👉 improved TTFB (1.54 secs to 0.57 sec) https://bit.ly/3R4vjKs #NetworkMonitoring #ITOps #Monitoring #IPM #InternetPerformanceMonitoring
