The Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act is must-pass legislation thanks to the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) provisions included in the bill. We are grateful for Senator Schumer's support and urge his colleagues in the Senate to move now. In New York alone, more than 262,000 homes were built or preserved between 1986-2022 thanks to LIHTC. It was great to see our partners from NYC Health + Hospitals and CSH, the Source for Housing Solutions as part of the esteemed panelists sharing examples of successful cross-sector collaborations. As Deb DeSantis said, “It can be done. We know how to do it.” NYU Furman Center's Executive Director Matthew Murphy, also shared a new interactive map analyzing healthcare facility and hospital-owned (HHO) properties and their suitability for housing development.
