I’ve found it helpful to acknowledge the conflict while creating a safe space for conversation. Allowing both parties to be heard and then helping everyone understand we have to be able to work together for the good of the team and asking the parties for their thoughts on the path forward. One of the questions that has been helpful if we can’t do what the other party wants is what can we do? Through continued dialogue, we should be able to reach some middle ground that helps us move through the conflict.
