24 March 2016 : Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data was accepted in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.

7 April 2016 : Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 was published in the Official Gazette dated April 7, 2016 and numbered 29677.

5 October 2016 : According to the provisions of Article 21 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, 3 candidates were elected for Personal Data Protection Board in 5 October 2016 in the 3rd session of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.

11 October 2016 : According to the provisions of Article 21 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, 2 candidates were selected for Personal Data Protection Board in 11 October 2016 by the Council of Ministers with the decision no 2016/9597.

15 December 2016 : According to the provisions of Article 21 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, 2 candidates were selected for Personal Data Protection Board in 15 December 2016 with the decisions of the President of the Republic of Türkiye.

4 January 2017 : According to the provisions of Article 21 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, 2 candidates were elected for Personal Data Protection Board in 4 January 2017 in the 50th session of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.

12 January 2017 : According to the provision of Article 21(9) of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 titled Personal Data Protection Board, The members of the Personal Data Protection Board took oath before the First Presidency Board of the Court of Cassation.

30 January 2017 According to the Article 21(7) of the Personal Data Protection Law, The President and Second President, who are named below, have been elected by the Personal Data Protection Board.
