Rocks are some of the planet's most vital carbon sinks. Limestone is an abundant and inexpensive rock that captures massive amounts of CO2 from the air over years in a process known as carbon mineralization. Heirloom’s technology accelerates this natural process to just days.
By integrating this mineralization approach into a Direct Air Capture facility – a highly-scalable carbon removal technology which verifiably removes CO2 from the atmosphere – we get the best of both worlds: an inexpensive, high-quality, scalable carbon removal solution.

Our Facility
The first commercial Direct Air Capture facility in the United States
Heirloom is operating the first DAC facility in the United States to permanently remove CO2 from the atmosphere, fulfilling customer carbon removal purchases in Tracy, California. The facility is fully powered by renewable energy, constructed with local union labor, and built in partnership with the City of Tracy and will pioneer a community governance model in the year ahead.
