  3. Sutton concerned by Scotland's backlinepublished at 15:58 19 June

    Scotland v Switzerland (20:00 BST)

    Chris Sutton predictions

Before the Germany game the Scotland fans made it one of the best pre-match atmospheres I have ever witnessed.

And then the game kicked off and it was such a sorry performance. Scotland were smothered completely, and were not allowed to play.

They have to do much better against Switzerland. Scotland's first aim has got to be to get up the pitch, something they failed to do against Germany, but it won't be easy. The Swiss have started really well and Granit Xhaka was influential for them against Hungary.

I said before the tournament that I thought Scotland have a Championship backline, and I am worried about that again here.

The fans give you everything, I can take you all the way back to 92 in Sweden.

The fans waited behind for the games, they didn't gave a stick. Yes, we were going home the next day on the first flight. But those fans were there, they enjoyed their time.

We repaid them at the end of it, they were just disappointed that we couldn't get it over that hurdle. But Scottish fans are the best ever and as I said; No Scotland, no party

Scotland’s problem is they are simply not good enough. Only Robertson and McTominay would possibly get in some of the other teams at the Euros. The Scottish leagues are not good enough to regularly produce quality players. Steve Clarke has done well with a very limited squad.

We saw a Scotland team that I didn't recognise [against Germany]. They had no impact at any point, they didn't put Germany under any pressure.

We just didn't carry enough of a threat and the players will be feeling it. They've had a couple of days and get it out of your system because this is a massive game tonight.

Scotland fans with BBC presneter Rick Edwards, talking about their cycling experience in Germany

Scotland fans Alex, Stephen and David have finally arrived in Cologne after spending the last five days in the saddle cycling to Germany from Edinburgh.

They are just in time for Scotland v Switzerland and earlier today, they sat down with BBC 5 Live to tell us what that experience was like and their thoughts on the match...

“It’s taken five days and 30 plus hours in the saddle and the legs are hurting," says Alex.

"I'm not feeling too bad about the game. I think we’ll come back stronger than Friday. I don’t think it could get much worse than Friday. We’ve got the players they just need to turn up this time."

I met this group of friends and intrepid Scotland fans outside a damp Cologne Cathedral.

Euan, Neal, Andrew, Kyle, Stewart and Callum drove to Germany from Aberdeen in their 37-year-old blue and white camper van.

The route? Aberdeen to Edinburgh, then down to Hull, ferry across to Rotterdam, then a long drive to Cologne = 1,500km.

    Some effort that...

Netherlands v France (Fri, 20:00 BST)

Kylian Mbappe’s teammates are hopeful he might yet be available for Friday’s European Championship clash against the Netherlands after suffering a broken nose in the win over Austria on Monday.

France have made no announcement on their captain’s availability for their next match at the tournament in Germany but French media reports on Tuesday ruled him out of the encounter.

However, both Adrien Rabiot and William Saliba, sounded an optimistic note at a press conference on Wednesday:

"I met him this morning, he was a little better. He had gone to do other tests. I don't know more. But when I saw him this morning, he was better," defender Saliba told reporters

Rabiot highlighted the example of his Juventus teammate Wojciech Szczesny, the Poland goalkeeper who also suffered a broken nose in April.

"I don’t know exactly if it’s the same as Kylian. He had surgery the next day or two days later and he was available for the following match," Rabiot recalled.

"That's why when they told me about Kylian's nose being broken, in my head it wasn't so serious, because I told myself that he could be available quite quickly."

It’s only the afternoon and the Tartan Army have taken over the cathedral square near where a fan walk has been organised by fan groups and authorities as a way to get fans to the stadium two-hours ahead of kick-off.

Cologne Police are set to close the roads in order to facilitate the walk and they tell me they are expecting over 20,000 Scotland fans.

Bagpipes and singing are promised, and we know Scotland fans are never short of either of those.

  15. 'The pressure is on'published at 15:07 19 June

    Scotland v Switzerland (20:00 BST)

    James McFadden
Former Scotland international on BBC Radio 5 Live

Scotland have been the worst team in the tournament so far. I know Germany were good but we should've been better. It was a bad day at the office, it was the worst performance I've seen from a Scotland side under Steve Clarke.

I don't believe it will happen again but the pressure is on because I actually expected Hungary to maybe beat Switzerland.

So Switzerland are coming into this game, knowing a draw is enough to qualify but I just have to believe that Scotland wont be that bad again. Scotland are not a bad team, they had a bad night and I'm hoping they can put that right tonight.

Having watched all the games [at the Euros] there are no rabbits in this tournament. Genuinely surprised by the standard from the supposedly lower-ranked teams, such as Georgia and Albania. Despite being a proud Scot the poorest performance by some distance has been from Scotland. However, the opportunity for redemption is here and reputations are on the line. Let's see which side turns up and if [manager] Steve Clarke can get the tactics and big calls right, maybe even crack a smile with a result. Come on Scotland!

I was walking back to the hotel last night and met this group of Scotland fans.

Callum Robertson, pictured second from the left, was born in 1996, the year Scotland last enjoyed a men's Euros win when they beat Switzerland 1-0 in their final group game.

Only a late Netherlands consolation in their 4-1 defeat by England meant Scotland missed out on qualification to the quarter-finals.

However, Callum and his pals, including Ben Sneddon, Kieran Page, and Kieran Park - who all travelled from Dunfermline - believe Scotland are going to be rewriting the history books tonight.

  20. Sutton's Predictionspublished at 14:43 19 June

    Germany v Hungary (17:00 BST)

    Chris Sutton's predictions

    Germany v Hungary

What a start from Germany, but it is still amazing how the mood of their fans has changed so quickly.

There was so much negativity about their prospects going into this tournament then suddenly one good win over Scotland, and they are going to win in it.

As impressive as they were, I don't see it being as simple as that, although of course it should give them confidence and get the nation believing a little bit more.

In contrast, Hungary made a disappointing start in their defeat by Switzerland. They are under pressure because they really need something from this game but I can only see another convincing Germany victory.

    Sutton's prediction: 3-0
