5 WEEKS OF GIF EFFECTS 

Welcome to our first gif effect challenge event, inspired by last year’s creatorhub summer event! This event is open to gif-makers from all fandoms and will run from August 1 to September 4. Here’s how to participate:

• reblog this post and follow @usergif
• create a gif(set) featuring the GIF EFFECT challenge​ in the prompt
• caption your creations:

  description
• tag #backtocool22 so we can reblog your creations!
  (note: we will not reblog any problematic characters/people/ships)
• post your sets any day during each challenge’s assigned week

CHALLENGE 1: BLENDING [AUG. 1-7]

make a gif(set) featuring blending or “double exposure” techniques

CHALLENGE 2: COLOR [AUG. 8-14]

make a gif(set) altering/manipulating the scene’s original color grading to create a single color palette, restricted color palette, rainbow palette, etc.

CHALLENGE 3: LAYOUT or TRANSITION [AUG. 15-21]

make a gif(set) either using a multi-gif layout or transition effect (e.g. glitch, fade, motion blur, etc.) — you can choose to do just one or both prompts!

CHALLENGE 4: TYPOGRAPHY [AUG. 22-28]

make a gif(set) featuring stylized typography (standard captions don’t apply)

CHALLENGE 5: GROWTH [AUG. 29-SEP. 4]

make a gif(set) featuring gif effects that challenge you to go outside of your comfort zone OR revamp an old set you made to show how you’ve improved your gif effect skills
