Our graduates are passionate and eager to learn, so are we fostering an environment that encourages them? In our recent TechFlix documentary ‘AI and Robotics: A Near Future You’re Not Prepared For’ we learnt firsthand from Yvan Petillot at Heriot-Watt University how attracting students into the world of AI and robotics is simple, but that workplaces are not meeting their expectations. AI and robotics are still new and that’s what is attracting so many students to the industry, but as we learn from Yvan, workplaces are tentative to dive into these new technologies and provide graduates with a future they were expecting. Workplaces are being conservative, but that is limiting the potential of these new graduates who are ready to use their education to bring new ideas. So, what can we do to support these new minds coming into the industry?
