  • Repost from @dressforsuccess • May is Mental Health Awareness Month, offering a crucial opportunity to address the challenges faced by millions of Americans living with mental health conditions. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 1 in 5 adults in the United States live with a mental illness, with approximately 1 in 25 adults living with serious mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression. In light of this commemoration, today we turn our attention to Dr. Marie-Hélène Pelletier's latest book, 'The Resilience Plan: A Strategic Approach to Optimizing Your Work Performance and Mental Health.' This insightful volume provides inspiration, frameworks, and practical steps for building resilience, particularly in challenging times, to support our mental health strategically and proactively. Dr. Marie-Hélène Pelletier is a keynote speaker, and has over 20 years of experience as a practicing psychologist, executive coach and senior leader in various sectors including corporate, insurance, governance, and healthcare. She brings a wealth of expertise to her work. For additional mental health resources, please visit https://lnkd.in/edEcKAg or https://www.nami.org/home. • Dress for Success Greater London, a registered charity (Charity Number: 1106560), has been making a meaningful difference since its relaunch in 2015. Our mission is to empower women towards economic independence through a range of workforce development services. From interview training to CV reviews, and providing free interview attire, we offer comprehensive support to women seeking employment. Notably, our efforts extend beyond individual empowerment. By helping women re-enter the workforce, we contribute to the broader well-being of London. With 1300 women assisted annually and an impressive 80% success rate, we're not just changing lives; we're also making a substantial impact on the city. By facilitating women's transition into employment, we help reduce reliance on public benefits, saving the city of London an estimated £5 million each year. Dress for Success Greater London recognizes that when we empower a woman, we're not just transforming her life; we're positively impacting her entire household. By providing women with the tools and support they need to achieve economic independence, we're changing the trajectory of their futures and those of their loved ones. When a woman secures stable employment, it ripples through her family, providing stability, security, and hope for the future. Children see their mother as a role model, witnessing her dedication and determination to succeed. They're more likely to stay in school, pursue higher education, and aspire to their own career goals. Additionally, financial strain is alleviated, reducing stress within the household and fostering a healthier family dynamic. Furthermore, when a woman gains employment, she often invests back into her family, whether it's through providing better nutrition, access to education and extracurricular activities for her children, or contributing to savings for the family's future. This not only benefits her immediate family but also strengthens the social fabric of the community by promoting economic growth and stability. By supporting women in their journey towards economic independence, Dress for Success Greater London is not just changing individual lives; we're creating a ripple effect of positive change that extends far beyond the women we assist. It's about building stronger families, stronger communities, and a brighter future for all. To learn more about what we do and ways to support, visit www.dressforsuccessgl.org

THANKS TO REG! One day I was going to a meeting at a company based in a swanky office building in Central London. I was greeted by a lovely elderly gentleman who introduced himself as Reg, he provided the most amazing customer service. Not only did he direct me to the lift, he got in to press the button for me and to open the door when I arrived at the floor I was going to. We chatted as we travelled the 20 plus floors, that seemed like a mile up in the air. Reg told me that he was a widower, aged 79 and he how he loves his job as a corporate security officer, as it gets him out, stops him from being sad and lonely, he has lots of friends and people to chat to in the building and unlike other pensioners he doesn’t have money worries and he can treat his children and grandchildren to nice things. He said “you see this blue badge love - with it you will never be broke!” It was his Blue Security Industry Authority Licence. I have never forgotten that conversation and I have had similar conversations in other buildings which employ older security offers. I realised that I wanted that opportunity to “never be broke” for my clients and that is why Employment4ALL Ltd (CIC) always tries to get support and funding to help overcome the barriers many face joining the Security Industry - namely the training and the licence. With the support of Suited & Booted and Dress for Success Greater London we have referred our clients for smart clothing, so that they can feel confident and apply for corporate security officer roles. We have supported over 1000 candidates to gain employment in the Security Industry. Thank you to Paul Cartlidge and the Security Industry Authority for funding these recent training courses in which we hope to support those who want to work in the Security Industry and thank you to all our employer partners for their support. I hope that our Employment4ALL Ltd (CIC) clients have long lasting careers like Reg! ❤️

Supports and matches disadvantaged people and under-represented groups to gain employment, with forward thinking employers who adopt social value recruitment policies, to transform lives and bring about lasting change.

This week we started our Employment4ALL Ltd (CIC) Security Officer Training at Millwall Football Club. This much needed invaluable training is to enable people to gain employment in the Security Industry and been funded by The Grant for Good Causes from the Security Industry Authority. We are so grateful to Paul Cartlidge for coming to visit us supporting large numbers of Southwark Residents who want to work. Last week a lovely young lady from #Peckham Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) JobCentre completed our training yesterday had her interview with OCS Group for a Security Welcome Officer role at a Southwark HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) Magistrates Court. This lady benefitted from doing her Security examinations online, rather than paper based, so that her exam results were instant. As Employment4ALL Ltd (CIC) doesn’t have a large number of laptops, Vikas Sadiq from Get Set UK loaned us some for the exam day. Thank you to Samuel Oduwole GSIP and the team at ASB Security Ltd for delivering the training and a special thank you to #John from Millwall Community Trust, the team at Millwall Football Club and Josephine Sheehan from Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for supporting the candidates with a beautiful training facility. Any Security Companies that are interested in sponsoring a newly qualified security officers to join their companies, we have a large number of candidates and Employment4ALL Ltd (CIC) can host a recruitment days for you.
