Accessibility in Google Earth

Use TalkBack

Important: The steps to activate TalkBack may vary for your device.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Settings app Settings app.
  2. Tap Accessibility and then TalkBack.
  3. Turn on TalkBack.

Find the accessibility menu

From the menu, you can adjust multiple features like volume control, brightness, and more.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Settings app Settings app.
  2. Tap Accessibility and then Accessibility Menu.

Adjust font size & screen size

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Settings app Settings app.
  2. Tap Accessibility.
    • Font Size: Adjust text size on your device.
    • Display Size: Adjust the size of all content on your device. This also reduces how much of the screen is visible at once.
    • Magnification: Activate a zoom feature on select areas of your screen. 

Adjust color & contrast

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Settings app Settings app.
  2. Tap Accessibility.
    • Color correction: Choose from “Deuteranomaly”, “Protanomaly” or “Tritanomaly”.
    • Color inversion: Darken light content and lighten dark content. This setting applies to everything, which includes images and graphics.

Adjust animation settings

Animations help provide smooth transitions to navigate between different locations on the map. In your settings, you can control the speed of the animations or you can disable them.

Change Dark Mode settings

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Earth app Google Earth.
  2. On the left, tap Menu Menu and then Settings Settings.
  3. Tap “Application theme,” and select Dark or Light.
