Hello travellers! I’m Sil, an avid cosplayer and professional costumer with too many Lokis and a detail obsession. I handmake most of my costumes, and I love sharing the behind the scenes of my builds! My ask box is always open for questions (seriously, I will never shut up about making stuff xD)
The silver gambeson is still top of my “to make” list though—the sheer amount of yardage required for the green is intimidating my wallet, especially in silk. 😅
I made a lil vampire bat for the front medallion instead of using the actual design (which was Lolth the spider queen) May have stolen the design from Cazador’s staff 👀
Cast in thibra, a little wibbly in places but he’ll do! And will be much prettier painted dark silver like the other accents.
Realising how long it’s been since I put on these horns! I remember combing screenshot after screenshot when the Ragnarok trailers started coming out, desperately trying to get enough references, especially for the back of the helm 😅
I may bring Dark World Loki back for ConnectiCon next month—I miss having to duck through doorways. 😜
Ahhh the buckles TRANSFORM this look! The diagonal strap situation is one of my favourite details of the drow armour! (Still gotta do the side straps but I ran out of rivets xD)
I’ve been doing rivets and buckles today! The majority of the rivet placements in this design don’t actually make structural sense, but that’s okay—they still look cool!
Likewise, the buckles/straps are not reeeeally functional as designed, but I’m gonna make it work with some secrety magnets. 😜 For the buckles, I took some regular shoe buckles and sculpted some clay on top, molded that in silicone mold putty, and then cast in thibra and pressed the buckle into the thibra while it was still warm and squishy! It worked out surprisingly well!
Hope you all are still enjoying the Daenerys shots! I have honestly never been happier with a location shoot than I am with this one. And we’re so close to the final season of GoT! Who’s excited (and dreading)?!
Finally wrestled this deceptively simple cape into submission. This thing gave me SUCH a hard time for numerous reasons but we got there in the end!
Also, because this cosplay has zero pockets (terrible I know, maybe I’ll try and add some to the pants later), I made myself a matching pouch. I fell in love with the design from a Gale fanart by @tascaskelton-art, who was kind enough to give me permission to replicate it for this cosplay. Suitable for carrying around phones, wallets, and magical artefacts to snack on should the need arise 😉
