Administrator access

Laos wikipedia not have neatness because have troll has editing many article in laos wikipedia and not have admin for manager problem, please appoint me to admin, thank you--Laomonarchrestore (talk) 08:43, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

Please link to where you have posted to your community your wish to undertake admin duties. We would expect there to be at least a week between a nomination and a close to give a community time to respond.  — billinghurst sDrewth 10:26, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
Ok, sir click here--Laomonarchrestore (talk) 05:23, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
  • {{Inprogress}} Discussion should remain open until May 24. -- Avi (talk) 13:57, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
    • I reacted in the village pump there. Although I applaud having a Lao user being admin there; I am afraid the user has barely contributed sofar has not asked in Laotian to become an admin and judging on his username and userpage cannot be expected to be neutral with regards to issues in Laos today. Waerth (talk) 11:53, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
  • I note that no one has responded to his post on that wiki and the only other admin on that wiki has been inactive since 2013. Given the concerns Waerth raises above, I am uncomfortable granting even temporary adminship. MBisanz talk 02:38, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Thank you for all comment, although i have userpage and username that don't neutral but i'll don't have biased for sure, i want wikipedia have neutral about the truth and knowledge for laos people in next days, like many countries in asean (such as thai, myanmar, cambodia, malaysia and vietnam) that using wikipedia for refer in their report and article--Laomonarchrestore (talk) 06:11, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
    • I have proposed that Laomonarchrestore maybe place links to vandalism (and maybe also other requests he has like pagemoves) on a single page and then the stewards can do something for him. Just under the notion of assume good faith as I do not think there is a Lao reading steward. I think I might be the inactive admin on lo.wikipedia but those rights were taken already. Alternatively ask th.wikipedia if they have someone that can read Laotian. The scripts are sorta similar. Someone from the border areas of thailand might be able to read it. Waerth (talk) 10:04, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
@Waerth and Laomonarchrestore: If there are edits for protected pages required, then they should be discussed on the wiki, and when discussion is complete requests should be added to Steward requests/Miscellaneous (one of purposes of that page and the functions of stewards and global admins).  — billinghurst sDrewth 08:35, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Not done There is enough opposition to the request that affording access to the toolset at this time is not warranted. Issues requiring an administrator should be noted at the Steward/GS request page at Steward requests/Miscellaneous. Thank you for volunteering. -- Avi (talk) 19:06, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

Dan Koehl@svvoy

As noted on the usertalk, Dans temporary sysop-access expire june 19. It is holiday season in Sweden now and the user tells he is on "Ljusterö" on his userpage. Therefor I propose that you extend his temporary access until a RfA has been filed and we get response from the local crat, a month would probably be enough. -- Innocent bystander (talk) 11:09, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

You have a local 'crat, so please handle this locally. We have already taken action once, and if you elected a 'crat then you have requested to have that responsibility onwiki. Normal processes should follow for stewards, if we have that involvement. If your local 'crat has acted then please let us know so we can remove the requirement to remove the rights.  — billinghurst sDrewth 13:42, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

We request to evaluate this vote and give admin rights to v:cs:user:Kusurija. Regarding local policy, this is a work for bureaucrat, but 10 days have passed from the end of the vote and nothing is happening. The rule says that the vote could be prolonged if crat thinks it’s needed, but that should be announced. Nothing was announced and according my opinion, there is no need to prolong it.

Local policy call for quorum, i.e. if there are 30+ users who can vote (15 edits in the main ns prior the start of vote - max 90 days back) 20+ makes quorum; if less than 28 users can vote, voters must be 70%+1. This is counted from For/Against/Abstain. Actually, there are 12|0|13 - For|Against|Abstain, which is 25 in total. Two of them Jinxx and Poncrlenka, does not have proper amount of edits, thus there are 23 valid voters voting. For whatever range from 23 to 29 valid voters you got that 23 is more than 70%+1 and for the range of 30+ 23 is more than 20 so this vote is valid.

The policy than sais: if there are 3/4 of votes for candidate from For/Against, candidate was elected. So there are 10 valid votes, 3/4 is 7.5 but the candidate got 10 For so the election was successful for him.--Juandev (talk) 19:05, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

There is a local bureacrat who is active, so we are not authorized to override the local functionary. v:cs:Uživatel:Danny B. should be explicitly asked to handle this or explain why it hasn't been handled yet. -- Avi (talk) 19:33, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
Danny B. was gently informed/asked (very gently, because this b'crat/admin tends to block for either gentle impertinence against him, so we wikiversity editors are little afraid of him), but his answer was that "wait to see it done". But we had been waiting for 10 days, but nothing happened, nor was explained. --Kusurija (talk) 20:37, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
If the community believes that DannyB is not fulfilling his duties responsibly, they should locally discuss if there is a consensus to remove his privileges. Our job is to implement community consensus in cases where there isn't any other option. We have to be very careful not to exceed our mandate so that we don't lose the trust of the greater Wikimedia community. I don't know if this is appropriate, but perhaps a local discussion whether there is consensus to treat stewards as local crats under certain conditions may be an idea. -- Avi (talk) 21:28, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
Understood.--Juandev (talk) 06:47, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
Task was solved on cs.wikiversity. So this request can be removed. Thanks. --Kusurija (talk) 04:06, 26 June 2015 (UTC)

yes. Exactly sorry for poor english language. How can i became a permanent admin and have bureaucrat flag. Please help me. With full regards--1339861mzb (talk) 12:36, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
The community is too small for bureaucrats and for permanent admins as well, I would say. If you want to prolong your adminship on the wiki, you should start a request for adminship there. --Stryn (talk) 17:28, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

Under en.wp policy, administrators have their bit removed after 1 year of inactivity. @pple fulfils this requirement, but I'm unable to remove the admin bit as a bureaucrat (I think due to the @ in their name). Good afternoon, I ask immediately take right sypos Jkb and unblock user Auvajs. Jkb block groundless and he write false summary of block. Auvajs only write question. Thank.--Sapiens123456 (talk) 13:49, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

Not done (please please please don't use automatic translators when writing here) you should ask -jkb- and other local sysops to review the block if you believe it's wrong. --Vituzzu (talk) 13:57, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
After having been marked as done and for the record: disturbing and harassing edits on the project like this are extremely high at present - cs wiktionary and cs wikiversity users try to export their conflicts cross wiki to cs wikisource. The user Auvajs has been blocked for continuing sockpuppetting. Two socks are known, I'm waitig for some CU check and will block them all at once. Regards -jkb- 14:51, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
Thats your POV -jkb-. You have block user indef for a question, wheather there is policy regarding admins. Is the CU check transparent?--Juandev (talk) 17:31, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
I have no idea who is this Sapiens123456 and honestly I'd like to know too. -jkb-: you "forgot" to mention one important fact: I have not been blocked for continuing sockpuppetting. I was (see the difference?) blocked for it in 2006 and I admit I really was making lots of troubles back than. However since the Czech Wikipedia ArbCom decided I was allowed one account only I strictly adhered to it for some 7 years and didn't use another account till the ArbCom upheld my ban of creating new user accounts. So I must say your above message is formulated in such a way that it's clearly intended to make me harm which I'm not able to consider any differently than a kind of a personal attack. Please stop with that! Your block on @cs.wikisource is totally inappropriate but more of this soon.--Auvajs (talk) 15:12, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
Just FYI: Sapiens123456 is definitely a prolific sockpuppeteer, I'm running some investigations but I'm already pretty sure of my findings. --Vituzzu (talk) 18:57, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
Do it slowly but properly, we have time. You could find some more. Cheers -jkb- 19:05, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
My IP adres use 100 people. --Sapiens123456 (talk) 19:17, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
Facts: Auvajs has been blocked indef because he (only) asked if there are any rules for sysops at cs.wikisource (here; everything is in Czech of course). -jkb- reacted immediately and said Auvajs had made "subversion of the project, transferring conflicts from project to project, trolling and offensive provocation", so "continuing sockpuppetting" is not true (see at Auvajs´s edit history). That was all. Because at cs.wikisource edit only few people ("Czech world" is small you know) some users discuss this situation at cs.wikipedia (cs:Wikipedie:Pod lípou (sesterské projekty)#Bezprecedentní blokování správcem -jkb- na Wikizdrojích). Many of them are really upset and three of them (including Sapiens123456) ask -jkb- to remove his sysop rights - his reaction? Nothing (cs:s:Diskuse s uživatelem:-jkb-#Výzva). He says he knows two socks but where are they? Nobody knows. Maybe I´m not right but what I can see? The most massive abuse of sysop rights I´ve ever seen (OK, I´ve been wikipedian only for two years). I think that you cannot remove his rights if there is no consent of community at cs.wikisource, and there can´t be something like this, so this statement is made just to be fair. Regards. --Vlout (talk) 18:23, 2 June 2015 (UTC)
"The most massive abuse of sysop rights I´ve ever seen" Yes. I agree with Vlout.(I´ve been wikipedian for seven years). --Martin Kotačka (talk) 06:22, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
What you say may or may not be right. The decision about admin rights is undertaken by the community, not by stewards, so please address your concern to the community csWS for that community's discussion. Plus you all know better than to have the conversation like this on this page. So please have it locally at csWS, or take it to an RFC, this is a drama-free page  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:58, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

We discussed with him, and he is at peace with such development. No huwiki bureaucrat has removed admin rights so far. --Burumbátor (talk) 10:31, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

  1. Just to clarify, – while I explicitly refused to oppose filing this request (see 118265), there was no formal discussion of revoking my permissions on the project as of yet.
  2. While Oleg3280 is of course welcome to start such a discussion (on b:ru:Викиучебник:Общий форум), I doubt it will lead to any specific decision being taken given the low activity at the project – both in general, and especially when it comes to project-wide discussions.
  3. Thanks for your consideration. And sorry for the noise.

We will not remove rights unless requested to do so by the community or the user by an explicit resignation or an emergency desysop. None of this are met here to the best of my understanding. —MarcoAurelio 13:29, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

According to a community decision, administrators who have made less than 10 administrative action within the last 6 months are to be notified of the situation. Within the next 3 months, they have to explain their absence and decide whether they want to carry on. Should they fail to do that, their administrative rights are to be removed. Within the next 3 months, they have to explain their absence and decide whether they want to carry on. Should they fail to do that, their administrative rights are to be removed. Yyy was notified of the situation on February 19 and did not respond. SpeedKing (talk) 13:26, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

Done but the bureaucrat flag remains as that wasn't specified (do say if there was consensus anywhere, though) and seems to be ambiguous in the discussions on the voting page too... -- Mentifisto 17:56, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

The reason why I would like to have Adminship in Bengali Wiktionary is because this project is less popular and I think it is for absence of an active admin in here. Priority wise there are lot of works needed to be done like templates and gadgets. Most of them are not working properly. Structure of the Articles are also very much in random order. As I am an active editor in bn.wiktionary for last 3 years I have tried to encourage other editors from our community to edit here but they always complain it is very cumbersome to edit in here. Since I started to edit on sv.wikivoyage almost a year ago, I seem almost to be the only contributor, its a dead wiki (list of active users). Lately, I have structured with categories, found all the pages with speed delete wish, etc, theres a need of administration and to build up the infrastructure, and try to recruite users. I am prepared to take the challenge to try to build up this wiki, and keep it active, delete pages and user pages with delete request a year ago etc, and for all this I need bureaucrat or admin rights, but theres presently no existing community at all who can vote, after a weeks nomination. Hi चक्रपाणी, thanks for your request. Have you discussed getting these rights with the local community? Please link to that discussion, or start one if necessary. Also, is this a request for transwiki importer rights (uses the basic Special:Import interface with a pre-selected list of wikis to import from) or full importer with xml-upload capability? Ajraddatz (talk) 03:17, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
He is asking for importer rights on hiwiki. On hiwiki, his nomination can be found at hi:विकिपीडिया:चौपाल#विशेषाधिकार निवेदन. He has been supported by two sysops of hiwiki (me and one other one.). I think there shouldn't be any problem to give him this right for 3 months. If he will work well then we would like to continue his right for future.☆★Sanjeev Kumar (talk) 20:20, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

User Tchoř@cs.wiktionary

During the vote on Milda's desysop on Czech Wiktionary, I was asked by several users for voluntary reconfirmation. Because of the atmosphere of suspicion at that time (e.g. possible sockpuppeting; admins and bureaucrats being wildly accused of being biased) and rules on adminship still only in preparation, I have agreed with the community on two step reconfirmation (first reconfirmation of sysop rights, then in case of success reconfirmation of bureaucrat rights) with the voting evaluation being done by the stewards as an independent authority. The voting has ended, so now I ask you if you could evaluate linked reconfirmation. Thanks in advance.--Tchoř (talk) 14:07, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

It this the first reconfirmation? (one for sysop rights) Ruslik (talk) 19:53, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

Admin -jkb- banned me indef but I never did anything wrong to cs.wikisource (on the contrary I added quite a lot of useful content). -jkb- blocked me for posing a question on site rules. The question was formulated in a polite way. -jkb- blocked me because he doesn't like me, probably because in 2006 I supported his archenemy who he had serious wars with. (This user is still blocked indef on cs.wikisource despite the fact he only did few edits on cs.wikisource and none of them was disruptive in any way. This is just to show that -jkb- uses blocks to stop his personal enemies from editing, not to protect the project.) In the RfC -jkb- provided no explanation at all why should a question on site rules be "subversion of the project, transferring conflicts from project to project, trolling and offensive provocation". He mentioned some sockpopping but I was definitely not sockppupeting on cs.wikisource (I did it only in 2006 on cs.wikipedia). I request that I'm ublocked on cs.wikisource. Auvajs (talk) 15:52, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

Not within the Stewards' scope. Please attempt discussing it locally through the appropiate means. Savhñ 19:43, 20 June 2015 (UTC)
How can I discuss it locally if I'm blocked indef there? WTF? I already discuss it here on Meta (see RfC), the results seems evident: -jkb- made a huge mistake and clear misuse of adminship, didn't provide any reasons to support this ban (it's clear since they are none) but I'm still banned. As far as I know it is within stewards scope since they have means to unblock me. --Auvajs (talk) 20:54, 20 June 2015 (UTC)
Yes, that is an important question dear steward. How the user could discuss it locally, when locally blocked?--Juandev (talk) 08:17, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
Try the user's talk page at meta. Preferentially asking that your user talk page at csWS be restored.  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:03, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
As you can see, I already asked -jkb- here on meta: User_talk:-jkb-#Unban request @cs.wikisource, but he simply ignores my request. So I started the RfC. Now, what else can I do? Are admins supposed to ban people who ask for admin rules and method of establishment of admins? Is it OK for admins to ban users they don't like, just because they can? And are there supposed to be admins with no legitimity, after all? --Auvajs (talk) 15:31, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
