Global bot status requests

Global bot status for JarBot

Status:    Not done
  • Global user: JarBot (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
  • Discussion: for work on interlanguage links in several wikis, the bot have bot flag in wikidata and arwiki and enwiki and some other wikis and in arwiki the bot work on interlanguage 1.

I have some free time, and i would like first to serve wikis that do not have bots to do this job. جار الله (talk) 00:26, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

  • Well, I'm sure you know that interwiki maintenance on most wikis is now reduced to remove them as even now Wiktionaries use Cognate for the main namespace and maybe will be using Wikidata for other namespaces, right? —MarcoAurelio 10:29, 25 June 2017 (UTC)
The bot will add page link to Wikidata based on interwikis in page, If the page is not linked. And will remove the interwikis link if the page linked to same wikidata item, As an example 1.--جار الله (talk) 20:17, 25 June 2017 (UTC)

@جار الله: if it's not on a common framework, could you explain in short the details/algorithm how the bot will work? E.g. how will be handled interwiki conflicts. XXN (talk) 11:04, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
@XXN: it's a common framework, the bot will check if the page have item on wikidata if have will check sitelinks if any sitelinks in page will remove it from page, if the page don't have item on wikidata the bot will linking to wikidata based on langlinks in page, after linking to wikidata the bot will check sitelinks if any sitelinks in page will remove it from page, The code is simple.--جار الله (talk) 11:19, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

The policy says: "the bot must already be active on several wikis, with long-term contributions to back up its trustworthiness". If you have such contributions outside Arabian projects, please, tell me where they are. If not you should ask for bot flags on several wikis, make edits and only after that ask for the global flag. Global bot status for UT-interwiki-Bot

Status:    Done

Done now. I've also added the bot to the confirmed user group for one month as the bot will be needing those to be able to write some pages which won't be able to without that. @Ruslik0: There obviously isn't anyone that objected. Everyone voted yes. If you're refereeing to the last section, that stands for "notes" and I notified an administrator there.
