Global bot status for Soulbot

Soulbot is active on more than 140 languages, and has 59 local botbits[1]. It has been doing interwiki work since 2006, using the pywikipedia framework. I am an admin at the Norwegian (bokmål) project. When I asked about this on the local WP:BOT talk page a week ago, bureaucrat ZorroIII told me to try here. Nobody on the Norwegian (bokmål) Wikipedia have protested (or otherwise commented) yet. - Soulkeeper 23:26, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Seems fine to me. --Erwin 09:57, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
Trusted user in the nowiki-community. Laaknor 12:10, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
Done while the request looks fine.--Jusjih 22:08, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

Global bot status for Alecs.bot

Seems fine to me. I assume you've read the policy. --Erwin 09:00, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
I read the policy, after the exchange with Erwin below. Alecs.y 06:28, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Global bot status for MystBot

Myst2 22:14, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Plenty of bot flags, edits and account age for me. I suggest granting the Global Bot flag after a few more days. --Daniel Mayer (mav) 20:20, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Oh, Myst2: This bot will be used only for interlanguage linking and fixing of double-redirects, correct? --Daniel Mayer (mav) 20:28, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
For now, this bot is only used for interlanguage linking (+ cosmestic change on fr only). Not for fixing double-redirect yet. Myst2 00:08, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Done.--Jusjih 23:29, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. Myst2 15:56, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

Bot status requests

Xqbot@brwiki

I requested my bot flag three months (!) ago. Neal is the only active crat there but he doesn't find the time to grant bot flags --Xqt 15:42, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

On hold as I just asked at w:br:Kaozeadenn_Implijer:Neal#Wikipedia:Bot.23Xqbot and w:br:Kaozeadenn_Implijer:Kadwalan#Wikipedia:Bot.23Xqbot as reminders. If neither responds locally in a week, "stepping on their toes" will be the last resort.--Jusjih 03:02, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Flag was granted. Thanks --Xqt 07:43, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

The Afrikaans Wikipedia has local bureaucrats. Please see w:af:Wikipedia:Bots#Applications_for_robot_status for instructions about applying for a bot flag. --Erwin 09:44, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
Though you might want to consider applying for global bot status instead. --Erwin 09:45, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
I came here, at the request of a person on the query page af. I'm Sorry. A bot global, it's good idea, thanks you. Alecs.y 10:27, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

TchoŘoBot@hsbwiki

I asked for a bot flag on Uper Sorbian wikipedia in April. I was "redirected" here by local sysop Tlustulimu and have waited since then for any objections or support, as recommended at the top of this page. But because there are only few active users, there were neither objections, nor (more) support (not counting the initial response by Tlustulimu). TchoŘoBot uses pywikipedia framework and it already has a bot flag on czech wikipedia (where it is mostly used for solving disambiguations). Tchoř 11:28, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

What do you plan to use the bot for? I see you've been working on solving disambiguations, but on your userpage it says you hardly speak Upper Sorbian. --Erwin 09:42, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
I would like to solve disambiguations. And yes, I am not very good in the active use of Upper Sorbian, but I understand the language well, as it is to some extent mutually comprehensible with my mother language (I believe it's similar case as Dutch × West Low German, which you know). Also I do not plan to solve disambiguations of homonyms (which would require exhaustive knowledge of the language), I want to work on disambiguations of names (of settlements, rivers, hills, ...) . --Tchoř 12:12, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
I'm a bit reluctant to give you a bot flag as you don't speak the language, even though it may be similar to Czech. How about just running your bot without a bot flag? You'll just need to use a throttle of 60s. --Erwin 09:04, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
Running without flag sounds like a temporary solution. The problem is, when should I repeat my request in such case? From my point of view, I have enough knowledge of the language in order to use the bot or discuss its deeds with other members of the community. I am one of the active contributors (counter) and there were never any serious objections to the language quality of my contributions. --Tchoř 19:33, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Aaah, I see the problem. On my home cs wiki, there are categories only for three lower degrees of non-native Upper Sorbian speakers. I believed I should choose among them and I used 1,2,3 scale instead of the standard full 1,2,3,4,5 scale. I have now checked the description w:Wikipedia:Babel/Levels and I see that as an active contributor, I should re-categorize myself as at least hsb-2. Sorry. Please, either reconsider giving the flag or give me a good advice when should I re-request. Thanks in advance --Tchoř 19:48, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Bot flag granted. Sorry for the late reply. --Erwin 18:36, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

MondalorBot@eowiki

Hello! Please grant the bot flag per the global bot policy (this wikipedia allows automatic approval of certain types of bots). The bot edits since the 9th of December. Thanks, best regards, Mondalor 16:20, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

This bot should ask for the global bot flag. Carsrac 11:12, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
If I want to get a local bot flag, I should have a global. Do I understand you correctly? I am afraid you are not right. Therefore, according to Bot policy#Automatic approval this is optional condition for the attribution of the flag. Mondalor 12:01, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Done Laaknor 07:45, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

MondalorBot@rowiki

The bureaucrats of this wiki did not find the time to grant the bot flag. Given the activity of the bureaucrats (some requests are processed within 3 months), I think that they are not able to grant the bot flag in the near future. There were no objections on the page ro:Wikipedia:Bot/Cereri de aprobare#MondalorBot => there are no obstacles to grant the flag.

Hello there stewards. I would like to request a temporary bot flag here so that my bot can go through and do a routine find and replace feature on pages in this Wiktionary. One of the most active administrators there has supported this idea. Thanks, Razorflame 20:17, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
