Global bot requests

Global bot status for CarsracBot

Hello! I would like to request global bot status for my interwikibot CarsracBot. It solves interwikis semi-automatic and has already been flagged at a number of projects. See the toolserver-list and my own bot user page. I'm working on some small wiki to get those also on the global bot list. But more about those later. First I have to wait a week or longer until there is response or until I visit those request page again. Thank you! Carsrac 10:14, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

As with JAnDbot, below, I see you have a block on afwiki. Can that be easily resolved? Thanks. ++Lar: t/c 01:03, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
The block is because they only allow 10 active bots at the moment and they have blocked all the other bots that were running without flag. I and JAnDbot had requested the botflag, but because of a misunderstand I thought no objections are aprovement. A lot of bots has because of that reason a block, that is only lifted at the moment the local af.wiki botpolicy is changed or new bot flags are given out. Carsrac 10:46, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
I think it would be nice if any steward would have a talk with Afrikaans wiki community. I understand that every wiki has their own bot policy but I have doubt they can use so original and strict rules that are different from metawiki and enwiki policy. Because of af.wiki most bots can't solve interwiki conflicts effectively. Hugo.arg 21:07, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
I don't speak dutch or Afrikaans but I'll see what I (or a fellow steward) can do... Request is Done. Thanks for your patience. ++Lar: t/c 12:39, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
They speak very good english. They prefer to speak Afrikaans, but the admin and sysop's all understand wiki english. It is the largest wiki that has limited bot policy. Carsrac 15:19, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
I've left a message at af:Gebruikerbespreking:Anrie#Global_bot_status_granted_for_CarsracBot_and_JAnDbot but maybe I should post somewhere else? Anrie seems to not have edited in recent days there. I think maybe a subpage of af:Wikipedia:Gebruikersportaal/Tegniese_hulp_en_administrasie ?? Thanks for any pointers. ++Lar: t/c 16:43, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
It is on the correct page. On of the problems is that the local wiki editors are not large in numbers and not very active. And other place is af:wikipedia:Wikipediabespreking:Robot, but I think that only there to have place to make botflag request, but is not visited by any admin's or bureaucrates. And other place is af:wikipedia:Gebruikerbespreking:Alias, the only burocreate of af.wiki. Carsrac 05:45, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Latest status. Mine (CarsracBot) and JanDbot are unblocked on af.wiki and global bot policy is accepted. They did not object. Carsrac 12:34, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Global bot status for JAnDbot

Hello! I would like to request global bot status for my interwikibot JAnDbot. It is working on interwiki, both automatic and semi-automatic and has already been flagged at a number of projects. See the toolserver-list. Thank you! JAn Dudík 06:51, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

How long has it been running? How many edits overall across how many wikis? Sounds reasonable enough to me, but I note you have a blockage on afwiki... can that be resolved? ++Lar: t/c 18:14, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Running from 2006, 1936986 overal edits, registed on 288 wiki's has not a flag on all of those wiki's, but that is why the owner is asking global bot status. The block on afwiki is for making 2000 edits without a botflag. The flag is removed at the moment the botflag is given and that can take a long time. The waiting list for active bots is long, very long. Carsrac 10:41, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Request is Done. Thanks for your patience. ++Lar: t/c 12:39, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Global bot status for Zorrobot

Hi, please grant my bot global bot status. ZorroIII 18:11, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

I think the info box here should be for your bot, not you as the "info" and other things come up for you. Could you clarify that? ++Lar: t/c 18:16, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Better now? ZorroIII 07:47, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Yes, thanks! But edits like this one puzzled me. To clarify, you certify that this bot, like others qualified for the global flag, primarily does interlanguage links and is in compliance with global bot access requirements, correct? (by the way is there a lot of call for adding interlanguage links to user pages? :) ) ++Lar: t/c 11:48, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
The only automatic jobs I run are interwiki jobs, using the standard pywiki framework. This is also the only jobs that will be done on wikis where my bot does not have local bot flag. The edit you questioned was done to make sure that I had contact info available. ZorroIII 18:58, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification, and for your patience! Done ++Lar: t/c 04:27, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

Global bot status for MenoBot

I would like to request a global bot flag for my bot. I have already a bot flag on many Wikipedias including the largest ones: English, German, French, Polish, Japanese, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, etc. My oldest bot flag dates back to July 2007 on my home wiki (arwiki) where my bot has made more than 100 thousand edits. I have read and understand the Bot policy. I was granted recently access to the toolserver and will start running my bot directly using it. Thank you! Meno25 21:42, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Bot status requests

タチコマ robot@newwiki

Thank you! -- Cat chi? 21:20, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

People request it locally at http://new.wikipedia.org/wiki/विकिपिडिया:बोट/broken , why haven't you? MaxSem(Han shot first!) 09:13, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Pathoschild suggested me that I implement the "Standard Bot Policy" on wikis rather than make individual requests - to speed things up for everyone. Local community is inactive (or so does a member of the community claim) and supported SBP. -- Cat chi? 09:20, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Still while it is inactive you should ask it there locally. That is how Standard Bot Policy works. They may not be active, but if needed the possibility must be given to voted against it. Sometimes a local community become active if needed and they then speak very good english. Carsrac 05:56, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
You can run your bot on that wiki without a bot flag for a week or for 100 edits, and it will be eligible for automatic approval under the standard bot policy. —{admin} Pathoschild 17:18:12, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

I was told here by Saltinbas, a user from tr.wiktionary, that I should ask for the bot flag at meta. But it's ok if we wait for the crat's answer a bit. — KlaudiuMihăilă Message 20:11, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Last time my mail had worked too :) let's wait a bit, maybe he responds, I believe tr.wikt allows to run the bot without flag while waiting for it, but please ask them first. Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 20:21, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Why should this request be handled here, when there is at least one active bureaucrat in Persian Wikipedia (User:Behaafarid)? Please bear with the (rather slow) process of collecting support votes and getting confirmed, as being practiced on that Wikipedia. Huji 06:00, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
I could bear the process but, I didn't that some bureaucrat where active on this wiki. Also, the support votes seems to be in a sleeping mode. --Gdgourou 10:52, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Removal of bot status

White Cat

My human account had been accidentally granted a bot flag on the following wikis.

  • White Cat@cywiki
  • White Cat@euwiki
  • White Cat@cawikinews
  • White Cat@eswikiversity
  • White Cat@eowikibooks

The following accounts on the following wikis do not have a bot flag (my human account was granted a bot flag instead of the actual bot account). The bot flag from my human account should be migrated to these.

I kindly request a fix. Thanks. -- Cat chi? 15:55, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

cywiki has an active bureaucrat, euwiki has an active bureaucrat, cawikinews has active bureaucrats, eswikiversity has a relatively active bureaucrat and only eowikibooks has an inactive bureaucrat, but he's active on eowiki. So, this is clearly Not done. --FiliP × 17:00, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
I know all that, but they seem to lack the technical knowledge as do I. If you are willing to "teach" them, that is fine by me. -- Cat chi? 17:40, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
What is there to be taught? Go to Special:Userrights. Period. Everything from there on should be clear, because it's ever so intuitive. If a bureaucrat can't do that, then maybe he shouldn't be a bureaucrat. --FiliP × 09:04, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

remove bot flag for Gdgourou@cywikipedia

Hello could someone remove the bot flag on my account on CY Wikipedia. I already have a bot account (Pbotgourou) with a bot flag on this wiki. My human account (Gdgourou) doesn't have any interest to be a bot... ;-). Thanks.--Gdgourou 14:19, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

That wiki has local crats: [3], and does not appear to be on the standard bot policy list: Bot_policy/Implementation#Where_it_is_policy although I could be reading that wrong. Have you asked a local crat? ++Lar: t/c 14:38, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
PS, this removal request probably belongs on Steward_requests/Bot_status#Removal_of_bot_status so it gets archived. I can move it but it would be better if you did... if I did you might not realise what I did at first. ++Lar: t/c 14:43, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
You're perhaps right. I leave a message on their village pump [4] 12 days ago without response. What I think is someone made a mistake : he attribute both me and my bot the flag instead of only my bot account. Could you remove my bot status on cy. --Gdgourou 09:13, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
