I think we dodged a bullet there by not having a sequel. Better to leave things off on an abrupt but good note than to have it drag on and be disappointing.
I think so too, esp. given how many disappointing movies sequels there have been lately (although maybe Ritchie wouldn’t have done that to us.) The movie was left on a good note with lots of hints and ideas to explore for the fandom to still enjoy. A sequel would have been great, but at this point, five years later, the ideas and development of the characters the fandom has come up are probably way better than the development the sequel would have had and would have just be disappointing.
