In a high-speed attempt to chase them down, Illya is captured instead. Back at the Vinciguerra estate, UNCLE director Alexander Waverly throws his hat into the undercover ring, posing as a corrupt politician to gather evidence linking Victoria to a devastating attack on the markets.

Napoleon Solo attempts to shake down his prisoner for information on KGB corruption. He discovers that Illya Kuryakin, stubborn as he is, is as clean an agent as there can be in this war. Alexander Waverly is energized by the news and tasks Gaby Teller to recruit Kuryakin. Gaby doesn’t hesitate to tell him America teaming up with Russia is a terrible plan and invites Waverly to come see for himself. Tempers flare between the American and the Russian, but Gaby at last recognizes the potential in Illya. She convinces him to join U.N.C.L.E. and is put in charge of keeping their elite task force on mission.

A contemporary alternative history in which the Cold War only escalated

The team from U.N.C.L.E. track down the source of and plan for the weapon and move in to arrest Victoria Vinciguerra. Unfortunately, they’re too late — Victoria’s henchmen have already put her plan into motion. Illya Kuryakin, Napoleon Solo, and Gaby Teller move in to save the day, stopping the transport of the weapon and shutting down the satellite system.
