It was a great time to be in Berlin last week, and have the honor to join fellow TOP 20 founders for the Westerwelle Foundation Young Founders Conference! The entire experience was truly enlightening, filled with moments of inspiration and deep insights. From the thought-provoking discussions at the Global South Entrepreneurship Night to the engaging sessions at the Amela Morning Club and Tech Open Air, every event underscored the vibrant spirit of innovation and collaboration that defines the Westerwelle Foundation. Michael Mronz's opening remarks, reflecting on Guido Westerwelle's vision for young entrepreneurs, set the tone for an evening of powerful conversations. The panel discussion on supporting entrepreneurship in Africa was particularly enlightening, highlighting the incredible potential and impact of entrepreneurial ventures on the continent. I'm incredibly grateful for the support and presence of German Minister of Education Bettina Stark-Watzinger and Her Excellency Amb. Stella - Mokaya Orina, the Ambassador of Kenya. Their commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation is truly commendable. A huge shoutout to my fellow top founders! Your passion and drive for change are incredibly motivating. It was an honor to be among such a talented and diverse group. Congratulations to Luiz Filipe Guerra⚡♻️ for winning the Founder of the Year Award! Special thanks to Christoph Pleitgen, Sebastian Gentry, Ida Huiskonen, Judith L., Alay Aridhi, Isaack Shayo and Sarah Rukundo for hosting us with such warmth and making us feel like family. Your hospitality made the experience even more memorable. Celebrating 10 years of empowering entrepreneurs is a significant milestone, and I'm excited about the future of innovation and growth that lies ahead. Words that Perpetuate Mental Health Stigma in Men June is Men's health month. We want to focus on men's mental health this week. There is the issue of masculinity and masckulinity. Many men are forced to wear a mask yet life happens to all of them. They are in pain but at the same time, they feel that being open about the motions would give them a weak standing in society. 👨🏼⚕️ 👨🏼🌾 👨🏼🔬 👨🏼🔧 👨🏼⚖️ We need to start creating a safe space that allows men to be men. Masculinity should be something to be celebrated and not tolerated. How do we do this? Our words. The words we speak form the world that we inhabit. In Kenya, most men like to tell men to stop behaving as women. The phrase is " Acha Umama". Let us stop insulting men when they are in trouble. Men bleed, men feel, men get ill, men suffer from various mental wellness issues. 🤔 Do you know any man who needs a safe space? Don't force them to wear a mask. Safeguard their masculinity Speak to a Zuri Health Therapist via WhatsApp +254756551551 #MensHealthMonth #ZuriHealth #MentalHealth #ChatwithTherapist #FathersDay #Kenya #MaskulinityVsMasculinity

As we continue taking healthcare services closer to the people, today, M-Pesa Foundation hosted a free medical camp at Posta Grounds in Bungoma County. Joined by the Deputy Governor H.E Jennipher Mbatiany and the Senator, Hon. David Wakoli Wafula, M-Pesa Foundation also distributed 100 mama packs at Bungoma County Referral Hospital. The packs containing essentials for mothers and babies and are part of its efforts to enhance maternal and child health. The medical camp, which benefitted over 3000 residents with services such as general consultations and checkups, was in partnership with Zuri Health and Lions SightFirst Eye Hospital. Over the course of these camps, more than 40,000 individuals have accessed free medical care, and going forward, M-Pesa Foundation plans to hold two medical camps every month for the rest of this year in order to enhance the health and well-being of Kenyans across the country. #TransformingLives

We had an excellent time at the #SocialInnovationDays24! We connected with long-time friends, supporters, and partners like the Bayer Foundation, 60 Decibels, Elucid and got to hear from exciting innovators addressing global challenges at the intersection of health, agriculture, and climate change. Among many, many others, we heard from Blandine Umuziranenge of Kosmotive - a social entrepreneur the a mission to improve reproductive, maternal and child health in Rwanda; Daisy Isiaho of Zuri Health - a virtual hospital providing quality, affordable, and accessible care via mobile app, website, and SMS service; and Rose Goslinga about PULA - an insurance and technology company that protects smallholder farmers around the world. The event centered around collaboration and mutual learning, with a primary focus on unlocking each other's potential. A big thank you to everyone who made it possible!
