Mini Clubman

I ♥️ our Mini Clubman. It simply makes me grin every time I drive it.
When the time came to replace our Land Rover Discovery Sport, I wanted to go for something… a bit different. Something with soul, fun (but still with some practicality), that would hug the road more (not like a tower of jelly going round corners). We seriously considered going electric, but with the long journeys to Scotland that felt like a better choice for the second car. When we replace our three door Mini Cooper S, it will be EV, no doubt.
I've always loved the modern Mini aesthetic. It feels like a different path to a lot of automotive design that's around. I wasn't feeling it with the Mini Countryman, so I bought one of the last Mini Clubman's to be made.
It's a limited Untold Edition from 2023. The marketing waffle around this model reads like an aftershave advert, but it was the sweet spot of all the various trim options:
- Metallic Piano Black with brass trim accents and (unique) alloys
- 2 litre Cooper S engine. Not as thirsty as the John Cooper Works hot-hatchy model, but more definitely more poke than the standard Cooper
- Leather interior with sunroof and Harman Kardon speakers.
- and with the exception of the rear lights, no Union Jack flags everywhere!
