    Balenciaga’s Spring 25 show occurred at nightfall at the Museum of Art Pudong. The runway was held outdoors in a twilightscape with a view to the bund and Shanghai’s iconic skyline.   Spring 25 introduced super-elongated, vertical silhouettes inspired by Shanghai Pudong high-rises and deconstructed new hourglass shapes. It also featured experimental semi-couture and couture dresses.   Accessories such as platform metalhead boots and layered platform sneakers were also inspired by Shanghai Pudong skyscrapers.     Balenciaga has recently opened its first standalone store in Chicago. This new flagship, totaling 641-square meters, is divided across two levels and offers the latest Balenciaga collections.   The store follows Balenciaga’s experiential Raw Architecture concept and was constructed with respect to existing structural elements.     BFRND for #BalenciagaMusic   As part of the 360° Balenciaga Music | BFRND Series, an original 8-bit video game featuring BFRND as the main character was created. The game places players in various Balenciaga show sets, involving each runway’s respective soundtracks.   The first three levels are accessible to anyone via a dedicated mini-site, WeChat, or on a touchscreen at the Balenciaga Paris flagship on avenue Montaigne. A fourth bonus level is only accessible via the NFC (Near Field Communication) chip embedded in Balenciaga Music | BFRND merch.   To celebrate the project, a worldwide contest is now launched in which the top thirty players will be rewarded.     BFRND for #BalenciagaMusic   Balenciaga launches a new, multi-faceted collaboration with the French composer and musician BFRND. As the original soundtrack producer for every Balenciaga show since 2017, BFRND is renowned for his genre-bending signature sounds and his true love for deep electronic and classical pieces.   The Balenciaga Music | BFRND Series consists of limited-edition merch, a 4-hour original playlist created by BFRND that includes many of his artistic inspirations, and an original 8-bit video game. It is a 360° experience. The merch includes t-shirts and zip-up hoodies, all of which are available with an all-access pass embedded with an NFC chip.     Brand ambassador Isabelle Huppert and friends of the house Uma Thurman, Diane Kruger, Sebastian Stan and Iris Knobloch wore Balenciaga at the Kering Women In Motion Awards and Cannes Film Festival Presidential Dinner at the Place de la Castre in Cannes which took place last night during the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival. Isabelle Huppert attended the event wearing a Fitted Maxi Dress in black semi shiny leather from the Balenciaga Winter 24 Collection and Uma Thurman wore a custom version of the V Neck Pleated Dress matched with an Elastic Maxi Skirt from the Balenciaga Spring 24 Collection. Diane Kruger attended the dinner wearing Balenciaga 52nd Couture Collection with the Tailored Jacket and Skirt in bright blue virgin wool paired with Knife Pump.   Other guests and friends of the house Sebastian Stan, Iris Knobloch, Maria Bakalova, Camille Rowe, Amelia Gray, Rebecca Dayan and Elsa Zylberstein joined the event while wearing looks from Balenciaga 52nd Couture Collection, Balenciaga Summer 24 Collection and Balenciaga Fall 24 Collection which was presented in Los Angeles last December.

    Naomi Watts' Balenciaga look at the 2024 Met Gala.   Actress Naomi Watts attended the 2024 Met Gala in a custom Balenciaga Tablecloth Couture Dress, which was upcycled from a black lace garment embroidered with jet beads and sequins.   The bustier dress, made of a floral crochet tablecloth measuring 2.1 meters in length and 1.5 meters in diameter, was a reinterpretation of Look 63 from Summer 24.   The padded stola worn over the dress is made of black double satin, with an exaggerated filling that sculpts the overall look. For the stola, sustainability is essential, with a conscious choice to use an eco-friendly filling instead of feathers. This choice aligns with Balenciaga's modern ethics while maintaining the gown's timeless elegance.   Made of jet beads and sequins stacked in an irregular manner around the tablecloth’s cut-outs, the embroidery was hand-rendered by the Paris-based Atelier Montex, a venture founded in 1949 with a unique savoir-faire regarding high fashion embroideries.   The gown features lace that is delicately intertwined with sequins, jet beads, and black crystals. These all mirror the vintage tablecloth's complex pattern. Each element contributes to a richly textured surface, and each recalls Cristóbal Balenciaga's Spanish heritage.   Over 600 hours of meticulous embroidery brought this vision to life.   The overall styling nods to Look 135 from Cristóbal Balenciaga’s 1961 Spring/Summer collection, and it also nods to the party’s dress code: The Garden of Time.   © Atelier Montex & Le 19 M #AtelierMontex
