HTV9' is the Current News - Political - General Channel of Ho Chi Minh City Television, broadcast with a duration of July 23.5 . This is one of the first two TV channels of HTV, the earliest TV channel of HTV and is an essential TV channel for audiences in HTV [Ho Chi Minh City]] and neighboring provinces. This is also the first television channel of Vietnam.

HTV9 is increasingly diversifying its content, format, and program quality. History of formation and development

  • January 22, 1966: Channel 9 was formerly known as Republic of Vietnam Television Station.
  • May 1, 1975: Channel 9 was re-taken after Liberation of the South.
  • July 2, 1976: After the unification of the country, the station changed its name from SGTV to Television HCMC.
  • April 30, 1985: HTV changed to Channel 9.
  • July 24, 1987: Channel 9 ended the black and white system and switched to full color broadcasting for the first time in Vietnam. [1]
  • January 1990: Channel 9 along with channel 7 increase the broadcast time to 12/24h daily, from 06h00 - 12h00 and 18h00 - 24h00.
  • 1990: Channel 9 changed to HTV9.
  • 1995: The HTV9 logo appeared in the color R-G-B. At the same time, increase the broadcasting time to 13h/day from 06h-12h and 17h-24h.
  • 1997: At the same time, increase the amount of news to 3 news / day.
  • December 31, 1999: Together with HTV7 performed a broadcast with a record length of time at that time in Vietnam to welcome the year 2000.
  • 2003, HTV9 changed its new identity. At the same time, HTV9 broadcasts 19/24 hours daily and on Measat 2 satellite as well as DVB-T channel, start broadcasting the prime time film Vietnam prime time at 5:45 pm.
  • 2004: HTV9 began to be covered via analog in Lam Dong, Dien Bien...
  • 2005: HTV9 together with channel HTV7 increased the broadcast time to 23.5/24h daily. Also in this year, Ho Chi Minh City Television cooperated with Da Nang Radio and Television to broadcast HTV9 on channel 24 UHF of Da Nang Radio and Television Station.
  • March 07, 2006: Live TV Thay lời muốn nói. This is the 2nd music show of HTV to be live broadcast after Beat Bridge music. [2]
  • 2007: HTV7 and HTV9 are broadcast on Measat 3 satellite.
  • 2008: Stopped broadcasting channel HTV9 on channel 24 UHF of Da Nang Radio and Television Station and channel 48 UHF of Hai Phong Radio and Television Station, however HTV9 is still broadcast digitally on channel 38 UHF of Hai Phong Radio and Television Station.
  • January 26, 2008: Started broadcasting primetime Vietnamese films at 22:30, opening with the movie "Kieu nu va dai gia", later the prime time frame was moved to 22:00.[3]
  • August 2008: Broadcast HTV9 high-definition HDTV channel on HTVC's HDTV system
  • January 1, 2012: Launching a 60-second program on HTV7 & HTV9, and Vietnamese movies are broadcast at 17:30 instead of 18:00 as before. [4]
  • May 19, 2013: HTV9 aired in HD quality.
  • November 18, 2015: HTV9 broadcasts with 16:9 picture quality.
  • January 1, 2016: HTV9 officially broadcast according to Full HD standard, and changed the new identifier.
  • August 16, 2016: Stop broadcasting analog channel HTV9. [5]
  • October 1, 2016: HTV9 and channel HTV7 upgraded the quality of programs.
  • January 23, 2017: Release time slot movie Korean at 17:30.
