Suspected sockpuppets

Two brand new accounts editing the exact same three articles (Harla people, Proto-Somali, Masjid al-Qiblatayn (Somaliland)) at the same time. At best, maybe two people coordinating, as their edits are happening sometimes within minutes of each other on the same article with apparently no conflict and zero talk page communication.

Also appear to be pushing a similar POV at Masjid al-Qiblatayn (Somaliland), by removing any expression of doubt on the claim of the mosque's age: Doherty93 keeps removing the inline maintenance template and/or replacing it with citations to irrelevant sources ([1], [2], [3], [4]), while See2eyes recently followed up by reinserting an unsourced claim about being the oldest mosque in Africa ([5]). That See2eyes edit also sounds related to Doherty93's recent comment on his talk page here, where they suddenly start talking about this mosque being built before any mosque in Egypt (likely a reference to published claims that Egypt has the oldest mosque in the world Africa, Amr ibn al-As Mosque, which is otherwise irrelevant to the discussion).

Their behaviour looks like someone who's edited Wikipedia before, so if these are indeed socks, there may be an older sockpuppeteer account and/or other socks. R Prazeres (talk) 17:50, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I dug a little further in Masjid al-Qiblatayn (Somaliland) and found that it was created and largely written by sock accounts years ago, who added most of the problematic material that these new accounts are trying to protect. E.g.:
  • LTA and sockpuppeteer account Middayexpress (see SPI archive) is the one who created the article and added the initial claim about the mosque's age ([6]) which Doherty93 is now trying to protect.
  • The unsourced claim of "oldest in Africa" was added later by Bayesedam ([7]), who was blocked as a sock of Habar Awal king (see SPI archive).
I'm not familiar with these other sockpuppeteers and there have been no recent cases involving them, but still noting it here in case the CUs or others see a connection. R Prazeres (talk) 01:09, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
