Virgin Mobile USA is the US subsidiary of Great Britain's Virgin Mobile. Virgin Mobile USA does not operate its own cellular network, but rather uses Sprint's CDMA-based PCS network. Virgin Mobile USA began operating in the summer of 2002 and was one of the first carriers in the United States to offer prepaid cellular service. As of December 2004, Virgin Mobile USA has over 1 million users.
