Scrolling is a term that describes the continous movement of graphics over a screen. The word itself is a synthesis of "screen rolling". Scrolling can be used to describe the movement of content in a window, such as slowly moving down a webpage in a Web browser. More varied is the use of Scrolling in video games, in which scrolling is important to allow the player to control a character or vehicle in a large area. The first scrolling video game was Super Bug. Another important term is parallax scrolling, meaning several [[Transparency (optics)|semi-transparent] layers that scroll on top of each other to create an illusion of depth. The first parallax scrolling game was Moon Patrol.
