PJIRC (for Plouf's Java IRC) is an open source IRC client written in the form of a Java applet. It can be embedded in a web page and used on any web browser that supports the Java programming language.

Philippe Detournay, the initial and main contributor, has stopped working on the project since 2005. However, the website forum is still frequently used and moderated by the administrators.

Features

Unlike many other Java applets, PJIRC can also be run in application mode, without the need of either website or browser, though still requiring some form of Java Runtime Environment. It is also customizable through the use of plugins, including limited support for scripting using JavaScript.
