In general, ask on the talk page first.
  • curprev 16:4416:44, 6 February 2024PericlesofAthens talk contribs 142,680 bytes −650 →‎Science and technology: these are recent additions to the article in the past year, a peer-reviewed and vetted FA status article that should quite frankly not contain large additions unless they are discussed on the talk page first, and most certainly shouldn't be added if the editor can't even be bothered to provide a simple page number or have their citations in a style that does not conform to the referencing method already chosen for the article. This is basic stuff guys. Amateur hour.
  • curprev 16:3916:39, 6 February 2024PericlesofAthens talk contribsm 143,330 bytes −44 →‎Economic breakdown and natural disasters: looking back at previous versions of this article in 2020, it appears this citation was added here long after this article reached FA status, and since we already have two citations confirming this statement, we don't exactly need a third anyway.
  • curprev 16:3616:36, 6 February 2024PericlesofAthens talk contribsm 143,374 bytes −45 →‎top: ditto for this one, entirely unnecessary to have a citation here, let alone a page needed tag by another editor who clearly did not read the prose body or make any effort to add the page number per those that already exist in the prose body. For that matter the editor who added the citation in the first place needs to familiarize themselves with how lead sections work per WP:LEAD, and how we should generally have citations in the prose body instead of the lead section.
  • curprev 16:3416:34, 6 February 2024PericlesofAthens talk contribsm 143,419 bytes −45 →‎top: this topic is covered extensively in the prose body of the article, so it hardly needs a citation here in the lead, or the grossly condescending "page needed" tag marring a perfectly good Featured status article. I hate to be so huffy about this, but some editors need to take much better care of articles that are FA status. If you think your edit is not really improving things or could even diminish article quality, perhaps you should raise the issue first on the talk page.
