    • The APA LGBTQIAP+ Photography Grant is for emerging and established photographers who self-identify as LGBTQIAP+. This grant seeks to provide a much-needed financial contribution to photographers struggling to secure funding to complete their projects.

  • Vital Impacts Environmental Photography Grant

    • The purpose of our grants is to support and encourage visual storytellers to create a long-term documentary photography project with local communities who are working to protect the environment and wildlife. Vital Impacts will be awarding two $20,000(US) grants to support the development of a documentary project on the work of an environmental story over the course of twelve months. The grants are for two separate photographers working on two separate projects. The grants will fund visual stories that highlight solution based environmental initiatives. It is designed to give the recipients time, mentoring and intellectual freedom to produce a body of work over twelve months. The Vital Impacts team will provide mentorship and guidance to the recipients of the grant over the course of its implementation.

  • Light Work Artist-in-Residence Program

    • Each year Light Work invites 12-15 artists to participate in its residency program, including one artist co-sponsored by Autograph ABP, and two artists co-sponsored by the Darryl Chappel Foundation. Artists selected for the residency program are invited to live in Syracuse for one month. They receive a $5,000 stipend, an apartment to stay in, a private digital studio, a private darkroom, and 24-hour access to our facility.

    • The Satellite Fund, administered by SPACES and supported by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, is an opportunity for Cuyahoga County artists, curators, and cultural producers to create a public visual art project in Cuyahoga County. This grant is not only for established visual artists in the community, but also for emerging artists, creative professionals, and any Cuyahoga County resident with a strong vision and demonstrated ability to complete the proposed project. The scope is purposefully broad; we want this opportunity to be as accessible and far-reaching as possible to ensure we represent Cuyahoga County to the fullest.

      In addition to financial support, SPACES will provide access to our on-site artist workshops that is outfitted with tools and equipment to facilitate the production process. SPACES’ Artist Initiatives Coordinator will also assist grantees in securing a public display space (outside of SPACES) in Cuyahoga County. Additionally, awardees will receive a one-year SPACES Artist level Membership, which gives free access to networking and artist professional development opportunities throughout the year.

    • Loghaven Artist Residency’s mission is to serve artists by providing them with a transformative residency experience and continued post-residency support. The residency is located on ninety acres of woodland in Knoxville, Tennessee. Artists live in five historic log cabins that have been both rehabilitated and modernized to create an ideal setting for reflection and work, and they have access to new, purpose-built studio space. All Loghaven Fellows are awarded stipends to support the creation of new work during the residency.

  • Royal Photographic Society/The Photographic Angle Environmental Bursary

    • The Royal Photographic Society in partnership with The Photographic Angle is offering a 1-year bursary to support a photographic project that will promote environmental awareness.  Applications are invited from anyone living or studying in the United Kingdom with a talent for taking photographs and an interest in the environmental concerns that we face today.

      The bursary will provide £4000 to assist with travel expenses, photographic equipment and other project-related costs. We are looking for a creative interpretation of the subject as well as documentary and editorial photography.

The competitions are free to enter and TPA enlists the help of an independent judge who is given the responsibility of selecting the winning entries. One photographer whose entry is deemed the best representation of the competition theme will be awarded a prize.

    • The Carmignac Photojournalism Award funds annually the production of an investigative photo reportage on human rights violations.

      The current call for submissions for the 15th edition of the Carmignac Photojournalism Award seeks proposals that focus on Southeast Asia, highlighting human and environmental rights violations caused by illegal fishing and overfishing.

      Selected by an international jury, the laureates will receive a €50,000 grant to carry out a 9-month field report with the support of the Fondation Carmignac, which will then be showcased in a traveling exhibition and a dedicated website.

    • The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowship Program is a vital source of funding for the visual arts and art history in Virginia. VMFA is committed to supporting professional artists as well as art and art history students who demonstrate exceptional creative ability in their chosen discipline and, as such, has awarded nearly $6 million in Fellowships to Virginians. The Fellowship Program was established in 1940 through a generous contribution made by the late John Lee Pratt of Fredericksburg. 2024 marks the 84th anniversary! Offered through VMFA Statewide, Fellowships are still largely funded through the Pratt endowment, supplemented by the J. Warwick McClintic Jr. Scholarship Fund.
