I crammed soooo many technical headcanons into the ship’s cutaway. Density!
Okay so Mr. Greg Beaverton (name of this alien) was always meant to be here in the plot. I foreshadowed him all the way back on page 15 (where you can see a narrow gap where the ship’s elevator hatch was pried open) and on page 16 where the area scan shows his lifesigns inside the ship. This is his moment. He’s very proud of himself.
I know a stowaway at the last minute is a super predictable trope in Alien stories, but you can’t blame the characters for it.
