Chainlink Community Code of Conduct

Introduction

A diverse, strong, and active community is one of the most important resources to the success of the Chainlink Network. By leveraging the collective intelligence and expanding network, the community can come together to accelerate the onboarding and adoption of Chainlink-connected smart contracts across major industries worldwide. Each community member should feel empowered to create new and interesting content, participate in thoughtful discussions, and share constructive feedback, creating a dialogue on any platform.

The Chainlink Community is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where people can interact, contribute, evangelize, and learn. This Code of Conduct governs how community members should behave in both public forums and when interacting with each other. We expect everyone who claims affiliation with, participates in and represents the project officially or informally to honor this Code of Conduct.

This Code of Conduct applies within all community spaces, as well as situations when an individual is officially representing the community in public spaces. Examples of representing our community include Ambassadors, Advocates, and other community members with defined roles.

This Code of Conduct is not exhaustive or complete. It is not a rulebook; it serves to distill our collective understanding of a collaborative, shared environment with communal goals. We expect it to be followed in spirit as much as in the letter.

Commitment to Our Community

Everyone must act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community. By their participation in the community, every member, contributor, and leader agrees to make our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

Behavior contrary to this spirit of tolerance is not acceptable and those acting contrary to it will be subject to discipline in accordance with community Impact and Enforcement Guidelines attached to this Code of Conduct.

Our Community Standards

Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment for our community include:

  • Making education a priority, both for ourselves and the entire community

  • Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people

  • Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences

  • Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback

  • Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes, and learning from the experience

  • Focusing on what is best not just for us as individuals, but for the overall community

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances of any kind

  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks

  • Public or private harassment

  • Publishing others’ private information, such as a physical or email address, without their explicit consent

  • Discussing the price of a token or asset, or giving any type of financial advice

  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Enforcement

Community Leaders, such as Ambassadors, Advocates, and moderators, are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful. Community Leaders are obligated follow the Community Impact and Enforcement Guidelines attached to this Code of Conduct.

Community Leaders have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned to this Code of Conduct, and will communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate.

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to the Community Leaders. You can also report any incidents by emailing [email protected].

All Community Leaders are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any such incident to the extent practicable.
