Since the Middle Ages, watchmaking has evolved from monumental medieval towers to small adornments. The advent of quartz technology revolutionized horlogerie, enabling the creation of tiny, high-performance mechanisms. Over time, the demand for smaller, more elegant watches grew, particularly for slender wrists. Jacqueline Dimier was the first one to tackle the challenge of miniaturizing the Royal Oak by designing a 29mm reference, known as the Royal Oak II. With time and the mastering of quartz movements, we officially launched the Mini Royal Oak in 1997. This tiny timepiece emerged as a symbol of this evolution, blending tradition with innovation. A journey of care. Did you know that when servicing your watch, all your watch pieces are carefully dismantled and cleaned? Then, the watchmaker examines and replaces any part subject to high wear and tear with our latest components. After the ultrasonic baths degrease and fully clean each part, the whole is assembled and lubrified by a variety of oils and greases according to the stability coefficients specific to each component. A feat of engineering and design. Introducing the new iteration of the Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Extra-Thin (RD3) for the first time in 18-carat white gold, taking inspiration from the two 39 and 37 mm models in stainless steel released in 2022. Powered by the ultra-thin selfwinding flying tourbillon movement, Calibre 2968, this new 37 mm iteration is the thinnest gold model offered in the 37 mm Royal Oak collection. Designing time together. Unveiling the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar “John Mayer” Limited Edition, a harmonious blend of technical ingenuity and aesthetic design. This new timepiece marks the end of Calibre 5134, a chapter that began in 1978 with the launch of Calibre 2120/2800, the thinnest self-winding perpetual calendar movement in the world at the time. Encounter a sense of infinity on your wrist as the picturesque dial merges Audemars Piguet’s aesthetics and John Mayer’s vision of a crystal sky.
