I haven't noticed anything recently.
Since v24 Firefox on Linux images on page flicker when tab switch. Open couple of pages with images and then just switch to first tab. You can see images flicker while redraw.

Every time that this has happened to me, the browser goes into this weird state where if you for example try to switch tabs, sometimes we don't repaint the window, so even though the tab switch "works", the window on the screen still shows the content from the old windows. When Firefox goes into this state, the only way I've found to fix things has been a restart.

I though it was my imagination but I am also seeing this on SM 2.31b1. See flicker.avi. My STR: 1. Google "RJ11" 2. Click "Images" link. 3. Click on the Diagram image. It will appear to flicker (or vibrate, for lack of a better description).
