Helias advances to Class 2 State Championship game

FENTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

Helias Girls Soccer has earned the opportunity to play for its first state championship trophy in program history. The Crusaders shut out Logan-Rogersville 1-0 in the MSHSAA Class 2 State Semifinals on Friday at World Wide Technology Soccer Park, sending Helias to its second-ever state championship game.

Madeline Larkin scored the game's lone goal midway through the first half, and Eloise Lock finished the contest 3-for-3 in save opportunities. As a team, the Crusaders posted 20 more shots than the Wildcats.

Up next - Helias will aim to win the program's first-ever state title on Saturday, June 1 at 4 p.m. against Notre Dame de Sion.
