Former Mizzou star Darius Robinson signs rookie contract with Arizona

PHOENIX, Ariz. (KMIZ)

Former Mizzou football star Darius Robinson is on board for four years in Arizona, after putting pen to paper on his rookie contract on Tuesday.

Multiple reports said that Robinson is fully guaranteed $13.9 million in his deal, as well as a $6.9 million signing bonus. As is the standard with first-rounder contracts, there is a fifth-year team option, as well.

"Before your senior year, you think, 'If I go in the first round you get this, this and this,'" Robinson said in a press release, on Tuesday. "But now, it's pen to paper, and it's real.

The defensive lineman was the second first-round draft pick for Arizona in the 2024 NFL Draft, going No. 27 overall. For Mizzou, he was the first Tiger selected in the first round since Charles Harris went No. 22 overall in 2017.

Robinson, or D-Rob as he's known by Tiger fans, will be joining a Cardinals team looking to build something in Phoenix. Arizona did not make the postseason in 2024, but was able to bring in some key a additions throughout the offseason. The former MU defensive end will likely play a major role in Arizona's rebuild, however, he remains as humble as ever.

"I just want to act like a great teammate," Robinson said. "If I am carrying a bag and let everyone know that's cool, because I believe in serving and leadership. I'm willing to do whatever needed to help our team win."

The Cardinals first NFL preseason game will be against the New Orleans Saints on August 10 at 7 p.m.
