One in custody after foot chase in Central Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department said Sunday that one person was arrested after a foot chase in Central Columbia.

LT. Andy Muscato told ABC 17 News that police were called to the area of Bryant and Allen Street around 5:30 p.m. Sunday for an assault and possible robbery.

Muscato said the suspect is a male, but wouldn't provide their age.

According to Muscato, police received a suspect description and found the suspect near Bryan and Allen Street. Muscato said police were able to arrest him following a foot chase after establishing a perimeter.

Police were unable to say how severe the victim's injuries are, as well as how the victim was injured.

An ABC 17 News crew saw a Missouri State Highway Patrol vehicle on scene, as well as Allen Street blocked off.

Police were still seen looking for evidence in the area around 8:30 p.m.
