該頻道屬福斯公司，是华特迪士尼公司收购二十一世紀福斯后，由余留业务独立组建的新公司。該頻道與CNN、MSNBC并為美國最知名的三個新聞頻道。在收視率方面远超CNN和MSNBC[3]。
