Centre Gives Fest Moves Indoors

With rain in the forecast, Centre Gives Fest is moving to a new location on Thursday.

The festival celebrating the final hours of Centre Foundation’s annual two-day online giving event will now be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the newly opened Brass 16823, located at Titan Energy Park, 2042 Axemann Road in Bellefonte.

“This beautiful, modern industrial venue has been generously provided for free, showcasing the strength and unity of our community during Centre Gives,” Centre Foundation wrote in a news release.

The festival was originally scheduled to take place in Bellefonte’s Talleyrand Park

Centre Gives Fest will still include music by DJ Elbow Knee Knee of Gorinto Productions; food from vendors such as Savory Station and Brazilian Munchies ; and representatives from about three dozen participating organizations providing information, games and activities.

The event celebrates the final hours of the 36-hour Centre Gives, which since its inception in 2012 has raised $14.6 million for nonprofits working in areas such as arts, animals, education, environment, health and social services.

More than 200 local nonprofits are participating in this year’s Centre Gives, which kicked off at 8 a.m. on Wednesday and concludes at 8 p.m. Thursday.
