Reddit Embeds Terms

We are excited that you are interested in using the Reddit embeds service (“Reddit Embeds”)! These Reddit Embeds Terms (together with Reddit’s Developer Terms, User Agreement, Press & Broadcast Guidelines, and Brand Guidelines, “Terms”) apply to your access to and use of Reddit Embeds and include certain terms that are defined in the Developer Terms and User Agreement. By embedding User Content or any other Reddit Licensed Materials via Reddit Embeds, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use Reddit Embeds. If you are an individual representing an entity, you acknowledge that you have the appropriate authority to accept these Terms on behalf of such entity.

1. License

1.1 Our License to You

Reddit Embeds generate a URL that you can copy and paste into your App to make User Content visible on your App in accordance with these Terms.

Reddit grants you, subject to your complete and ongoing compliance with these Terms (including the Developer Terms and User Agreement and all Developer Documentation for Reddit Embeds), a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to use Reddit Embeds in accordance with (and limited to the scope of) the Reddit License under the Developer Terms. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Reddit.

1.2 Your License to Reddit

If you are accessing and using Reddit Embeds to make User Content visible on your App, you grant Reddit a non-exclusive, royalty-free, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to index, cache, crawl, and otherwise access any part of your App on or through which you display User Content or any other Reddit Licensed Materials using Reddit Embeds to monitor your App for the purpose of confirming your continued compliance with these Terms and to comply with applicable law.

2. Restrictions on Use

Reddit Embeds are provided by Reddit as an accommodation only and are intended to be used only for embedding User Content in your App in accordance with these Terms. Reddit assumes no responsibility and provides no warranty for your use of Reddit Embeds. Nothing in these Terms shall be deemed to grant you any right, title, or interest in User Content. You are solely responsible for using User Content in compliance with any requirements or restrictions imposed by applicable rightsholders.

When using or accessing Reddit Embeds, you must comply with these Terms, and all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Use of Reddit Embeds is also subject to the following restrictions and requirements:

  • Do not use Reddit Embeds for any purpose other than making User Content visible on your App;

  • Do not use Reddit Embeds to facilitate the sale of access to any Reddit Services and Data without Reddit’s prior written approval;

  • Do not modify, alter, obscure, or disable any elements of Reddit Services and Data made visible on your App through Reddit Embeds;

  • Do not embed Reddit Services and Data in a way that implies partnership with, affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement by Reddit; and

  • Do not use Reddit Embeds to display User Content in advertisements or to imply endorsement of any product or service without explicit permission from rightsholders.

If you receive notices or requests to remove content pursuant to the Reddit Content Policy, you will escalate these requests to Reddit via this contact form.

3. Miscellaneous

Reddit’s Developer Terms, User Agreement, Press & Broadcast Guidelines, and Brand Guidelines are each incorporated by this reference into, and made a part of, these Terms. We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time. Your continued access to or use of Reddit Embeds will constitute your binding agreement to these Terms as amended. We may change, suspend, or terminate the availability of Reddit Embeds at any time. In addition, Reddit reserves the right to restrict your access to and use of Reddit Embeds at our sole discretion.
