...Because there's some really great, intelligent, fun people who have moved on and we need to/should all stay connected!! Sorry about having to recreate this group gang. I just learned that MeetUp deletes you group/account if their minimum requirements in terms of group setup and description aren't fulfilled within 4 days. We're all good now!

The Alumni Group (TAG) meetup brings together college-educated professionals in the NYC metropolitan area to socialize and network over good food and drinks. Our meetups include brunches (most venues will offer a bottomless brunch special), after-work happy hours (featuring great food and drink specials), and more! The majority of our meetups will take place in Manhattan, but eventually we may venture to the other boroughs (stay tuned!). The group promises to be fun and interesting, laid back and welcoming, without unnecessary drama. A group for UVA a cappella nerds living in and around NYC.  Mostly for helping to organize a mixed-group alumni sing at the Virginia Club of New York's UVA Bicentennial celebration on Oct. 6th (but that doesn't mean we can't have some random happy hours, karaoke outings, etc., moving forward).   Will post more details for the group as soon as we see how many people are around/interested in potentially being involved, so invite any other UVA a cappella alums you know!

A think-tank for privacy ideas. BLS Privacy Alumni should join this crew. Will include speakers and themes.

If you go to or recently graduated from college and have moved to the city and have an interest in reading, enjoyed discussing books in class, or want to meet new people this is the book club for you. You don't need to have been an English major.

This meetup group is solely for recent college grads and young professionals only! There are a lot of "20 and 30 somethings" groups on Meetup but those seem to lean more towards the older end of the spectrum. If you've recently moved back from college and are missing your old friends and having trouble making new ones, this is the group for you! We will do events like happy hours, dinners, bar crawls, bowling, and much more. Suggestions for events are welcome and encouraged. This is not a dating group, or a singles group, though hopefully some of you can find a special someone if you are looking. Please be mature, kind, open to meeting new people, have some education past high school, and be between the ages of 21 and 28. Invite your friends and lets prove that life after college doesn't have to suck!

You must include a first name, a picture that clearly shows your face, and your university and graduation year to join. Organizers have the right to remove members who do not follow these rules.. Just trying to keep the group safe and make sure that there are actual people behind the profiles.

RSVPs must be cancelled at least 2 hours from the start time. Cancelling an RSVP within 2 hours of the start time will result in being marked as a "no show". After 2 "no show's" you will be removed from the group.

CMU Tech & Entrepreneurship New York! 

The purpose of this group is to provide a venue to network with fellow Carnegie Mellon Alumni working or interested in the NYC technology industry. Our goal is to provide an environment in which you can meet fellow alumni that have founded or lead tech startups, learn from each others' experiences, gain insight and advice on starting a company, and discover new opportunities or find talent for your own. In addition to regular member meetings we will also engage with CMU in order to build a stronger connection by the university and the NY tech industry. Do You Speak Bengali But Want to Learn to Read and Write ?

Did you grow up speaking Bangla but never got in the habit of reading ? If so, this is your chance! We will have fun classes and learning materials, help with typing in Bangla. Classes available in both Jackson Heights and Manhattan. Taught by Mrs. Maya Misra of Kolkata.
Beginning level Bangla classes available also.

Students are asked to pay $15 per class. 

Mayaji graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Scottish Church College of Kolkata. She has received a Nritya Praveen in Kathak dance.
She is the wife of the late Pandit Ramesh Misra and is a Kathak dancer and dance teacher as well.

She has been teaching Bengali to American students for the last eight years. Students taking her classes have praised her classes as "Energetic and enthusiastic" and "We are learning to express ourselves !"
