The PrincetonEN NYC organizes networking events in NYC and brings in speakers like Matt Meeker, the founder of Meetup.com. (Small world...we know :-)

This is a closed group open to all Princeton Alumni and current students.

Mission: The mission of the Parents Club is to foster a strong sense of community among the parents and families of students attending the Martin Tuchman School of Management (MTSM) at NJIT. We aim to provide support, resources, and engagement opportunities to enhance the college experience for both students and their families. Goals: Support: Create a supportive network for parents and families, ensuring they have access to information and resources to help them navigate their child's college journey. Communication: Foster effective communication between the college administration, faculty, and parents, keeping them informed about important campus updates, events, and academic matters. Engagement: Organize activities, events, and workshops that encourage parent involvement in campus life, allowing them to connect with other parents, faculty, and staff and actively contribute to the college community. Advocacy: Serve as a platform for parents to voice their opinions, concerns, and ideas and collaborate with the college administration to address them effectively. Support Services: Identify and provide resources, both on-campus and off-campus, to assist parents in supporting their child's academic, personal, and career development. Activities and Initiatives: Welcome Events: Host orientation sessions for parents of incoming students to familiarize them with the college's programs, services, and campus life. Parent Workshops: Organize workshops on topics such as financial aid, career services, mental health, and student safety, offering parents guidance and resources to support their child's success. Networking Opportunities: Arrange social events, such as coffee mornings and luncheons, where parents can connect, share experiences, and build lasting relationships. Guest Speaker Series: Invite distinguished speakers, including faculty members, alumni, and industry professionals, to provide insights and share expertise on relevant subjects. Volunteer Opportunities: Encourage parents to volunteer in various college events, such as admissions fairs, open houses, and career fairs, fostering their active involvement in the college community. Parent-to-Parent Support: Establish a mentorship program where experienced parents can offer guidance and support to newcomers, helping them navigate the challenges of college life. Membership: Membership in the Parents Club is open to all parents and families of current and past students of MTSM. There will be no membership fees. To ensure a positive and respectful environment within the MTSM Parents Club, we kindly ask all members to adhere to the following rules and guidelines: Confidentiality: Respect the privacy and confidentiality of other parents and families within the club. Avoid discussing personal or sensitive information shared by others without their explicit permission. Respectful Communication: Maintain a respectful and considerate tone when communicating with other members, both in person and online. Non-Solicitation: Refrain from using the Parents Club platform to promote personal business ventures, sales, or any form of commercial solicitation without the explicit approval of the club administrators. Stay on Topic: Keep discussions, both online and offline, focused on matters directly related to the college and the club's mission. Non-Endorsement: The Parents Club should not officially endorse any political or religious organizations, products, or services. Compliance with Laws: Ensure that all activities and events organized by the Parents Club comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations and follow NJIT's policies. By following these guidelines, we can create a welcoming and supportive Parents Club that benefits both our college community and the individual experiences of our students and their families. Founded in 2006, the **Columbia Venture Community (CVC)** is a private, global community for Columbia alumni, students, and staff who are interested in all aspects of entrepreneurship and innovation. The group welcomes members from any Columbia University school, sector, or industry function (e.g., entrepreneur, investor, designer, lawyer, etc.). **Our mission** is to foster entrepreneurship among Columbia University alumni, students, and staff by facilitating communication, providing access to needed resources, and creating a vibrant and supportive community. To that end, we gather for an array of virtual and in-person events including incubation nights, demo nights, speaker panels, private dinners, and happy hours. We have hosted 475+ events since our founding. Individuals must supply their current or former Columbia email address (UNI) to become a member.
