Happy Tuesday everyone!  This week has already been spectacular as well as introspective.  Being interviewed by CNBC and Sirius XM was a true dream come true.  There have been so many lessons learned on my journey to becoming an international keynote speaker, Top Fortune 500 corporate sales trainer, and best-selling author.  One of those is learning how to pitch at a moment's notice, communicate from a place of power, and captivate and titillate any audience. The Dear John Letter:  Serving Pink Slips

I may be dating myself, but I remember hearing about “Dear John” letters growing up.  A Dear John letter is a letter written to a man by his wife or romantic partner to inform him that their relationship is over.  You are kissing the game goodbye.  Why have I been reflecting on this for the last 2 weeks especially?  Because I am feeling the need to let go of the past for an even greater future and also getting ready for another beautiful now.  Just like weeding and pruning, I gotta serve notice I am walking away with pink slips and exiting stage left.  

What brought me to this place? I started feeling this way almost 5 months ago when I saw that some things in my life and business were not working although I did not know why.  

MY BUSINESS.  My business, Perfect Pitches by Precious, needed a change and I had to face the facts that what got me here won’t get me to my ultimate goals. I knew playing in a different playground warranted that and I could no longer treat my business as I had been.  With this realization, I started making changes.  First, rebranding my company so that it truly speaks to the audience that needs my services the most and is willing to pay for succeeding through their business goals being met, sales explosion and redefining the art of pitching in the top 3 forms.  Second, creating a new website that reflects my growth as a CEO, speaker and strategist.  Third, hiring for the talent I need to expand and grow!  Whew!  It's been growing pains in realizing that my team as well as other things had to change in my life to go BIGGER!

MY LIFE.  I haven’t dated in a long time to do some internal healing and work through some past relationship and friendship trauma.  Although I am not all the way back to dating, the desire to do so is stirring up.  I feel blessed to travel, see the world, connect with dear friends and do it on my own without apology.  It has made a world of difference in my mental health and overall happiness.  

MY RELATIONSHIPS:  This one I struggle with to this day yet nothing can be changed unless it's faced.  So I have had to remove relationships and connections that are no longer right for me with love and grace yet still moving on.  EXPECTATIONS.  I am moving into living in my own expectations instead of others.  I am saying NO more often.  If it's not in front of my target market or audience, the answer is NO.  If respect is no longer being served, LEAVE.  If I am considered too much, it is not a problem.  Exit Stage Left!  I am trusting myself and my intuition more and making necessary changes.  Exposure does not pay my bills and is not how my target market comes to me.  Yes, I said it!

So back to “Dear John” letters and serving up pink slips.  Just so we are clear, it's time for YOU and me to let go of the people, places, and things that hold us back, even our own habits.  As we move into the season where everything is on sale, drastically discounted, etc., before buying, are you taking inventory of what you have in your arsenal and what is already around you?  Are you growing your business, life and relationships, etc?

WHO and WHAT are you giving a “Dear John” letter or a Pink Slip to?  Call it out below!

Have you hit your financial and revenue goals?  Take a look at who you have hired. Is there a disconnect with what you are paying and what you are receiving?  I bet you there is!

Look at yourself, are you showing up daily? If not, why not?

Start serving “Dear John” letters NOW. It's been real.  Give yourself the courage to voice out loud what your heart and mind have been saying and take action on it NOW!!  You with me?
