Culture & Leadership Consultant | Insights Discovery Licensed Practitioner | Coach | Helping organisations elevate culture 1% at a time
I've now completed my hatrick of appearances on the wonderful Lisa LLoyd's podcast Beyond the Water Cooler. Our latest episode is hot off the press and this time, we are talking about having a culture of experimentation. Having a culture of experimentation isn't a nice to have. It's a must have to be an organisation that is fit and ready for the future. In this podcast, Lisa and I delve in how to make this happen. We are absolutely buzzing in this episode because we recorded after we'd finished one of our leadership labs with a fantastic group of leaders who work across various industries. We always come away from the group feeling very inspired! Amy Edmonson talks about innovation pioneers in her latest book. She says that they have three things in common: 1. They are relentless experimenters 2. They are driven by curiosity 3. They have made friends with failure Do you want to drive an experimental culture in your organisation? Have a listen to the podcast and you'll hopefully come away with some ideas on how. If you'd like a copy of our experiment design sheet and some tips on how to use it, get in touch, I'm always up for a coffee (virtual or in person). Finally, we talk about our leadership labs briefly. Our next cohort starts in February and there are only 10 spaces available. Our labs may be for you if you want to: 1. Connect with like-minded people. This is important if you are a leader - it can feel a little lonely at times! Also, if you're a really progressive thinker in a traditional organisation. 2. Learn and experiment. Labs by name, labs by nature. We even have test tubes! 3. Have assistance and support with real time challenges in your organisation. You'll be able to voice challenges, problem solve and leverage the wisdom of both Lisa and I, and the rest of the group. Want more info? Get in touch with either of us. In the meantime, enjoy the podcast, and happy Friday! https://lnkd.in/ep_EY5Wg #leadershipdevelopment #experiment #community #collaboration

Alberto Brandolini joins Simone Cicero in this episode of the Boundaryless Conversations Podcast as a sparring partner in the exploration of one of the most "burning" issues: the intrinsic link between language, software and organizational design. Check it out as the two explore the role of Domain-Driven Design and, more generally, the role of visualization and context mapping in the process that we call "ontological convergence" i.e. how we agree on standards, converge on using common models and build common tools, protocols and infrastructures. #DomainDrivenDesign #Organization #OrganizationalDesign #Language #Company #Business #BusinessStrategy #Software https://lnkd.in/deTwqYUf

If you have time for one single podcast this week, then make it be Lenny´s discussion with Spotify´s CPO, Gustav Söderström. What stood out for me is how throughout the entire interview Gustav keeps coming back to the CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. From how to design AI powered products, to how to structure your product teams to enable alignment yet promote freedom of thought, to why it is difficult to solve some recommendation problems - this interview is an insightful and energizing reminder of how every decision you make will ultimately reflect in the product experience. And cheers to more nordic product leaders in Lenny´s podcast! :-) #customercentricity #productinnovation #ai

🎙 I had an awesome conversation with Karla Fernandes (Design and No-code Expert) on The Product People Podcast about the No-Code advantage. We discussed the benefits and drawbacks of using no-code tools, how to best get started, and the common misconceptions about them. 👂🏻Give it a listen here: - Spotify: https://lnkd.in/ezByjdyd - Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/eTBHZxuh As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts! Today I learned how important a company podcast is, not as a marketing tool (although it can definitely be that), but as a knowledge management tool. I interviewed Jessica Waters for the Invisible Technologies Inc. podcast and the interview brought tears to my eyes when hearing her description of the life-changing opportunities that some of her team gets by working at Invisible. Knowledge is not information. Information is lifeless. As Tim Wood Powell told me, information is all the books on your bookshelf that you haven't read. Knowledge is the books that you have read. Knowledge is alive. It's alive with the very consciousness that integrates with the information and turns it from cold hard facts into beauty, skills, and wisdom. A podcast allows for the transmission of that living knowledge from one person to another and in the process to anyone listening. People listen to podcasts because they find out things they wouldn't normally find out. The audience of a company podcast isn't the greater public (although it can be!). Its the team members, the advisors, the recent hires who want to understand the company better, and the general network (family and friends) of the people who work at the company. If you want to find out something you would never normally find out (well OK a LOT of things that you wouldn't normally find out), listen to this podcast I did with Francis Pedraza about the physics of innovation. If you or your company need a podcast, please reach out to me!

I was delighted to be interviewed by Marty Zalewski for his Leading with Joy podcast. Joy isn't a term that is widely used in business, perhaps because business is not joyful enough for many people. I hope I explain how it can be if you pursue your true passions. Hopefully you will learn something you didn't know about me. https://lnkd.in/eAn83zE9 #technology #art #joy #creativity #ai #artificialintelligence #aiart

Many lessons from Rework's latest podcast (https://buff.ly/3QmvsJf ) 1. When you get a new idea, wait 24-48 hours to see if you're still inspired to build it. 2. When you decide to go for it, get straight into doing and building, not tedious work (e.g. research, feedback, etc.) 3. Iterate and adjust fast after you have launched in the market. At this point, you have the fundamentals figured out and just need to smooth the edges.

The most interesting thing I've learned while being embedded inside of Invisible technologies is the answer to a very simple question: What is 'operations' when it comes to a company's business? With simple questions, it is often extremely difficult to answer succinctly (which is why I LOVE asking them on podcasts, people think they know the answer until they try to answer it). At Invisible we are innovating on operations itself in a way that directly keyed into one of the most important revolutions in the history of humanity, the AI revolution, which I personally believe is on the lines of writing itself as an innovation. If you are curious as to what exactly operations is and how Invisible is innovating when it comes to operations, check out this episode I recorded with Samuel Mata Bergés https://lnkd.in/dvc5psMH
