So much has been done, but gaps still remain in health inequities globally. Healthcare funding in low and middle income countries remains a huge threat to public health. Inequities are deepening by the day and communities are disproportionately affected by tropical diseases that we should not be discussing in 2024, such as cholera.

Addressing today's highly complex global challenges, such as Health (UN's SDG3), requires multilateral approaches involving the collaboration of wide networks of stakeholders. Sustainable, predictable and flexible funding, effective governance and trust-building accountability, including focused Programme Budgets, Monitoring, Evaluation and Results Reporting, are essential.
